Sun Dream Team tips – Simon Rowley updates us on his teams progress

My dreamteam season slowly goes from bad to worse, as underperforming players play havoc with my position and team value. As I said in my previous article, I had a promising start, but after a disastrous few weeks, I currently have 520 points, in position 549,993, with a team value of £53.2M (this is down from £56M at the time of my last article). All terrible numbers.

My team is currently –
Foster
Stones
Dawson
Matip
Fonte
KDB
Mata
Alli
Aguero
Sanchez
Firmino.

On paper, a decent enough team, but it just isn’t working at present. I only have 1 transfer left in November, so not much wriggle room to change just yet. Also, with the price changes this season, its getting harder and harder to get any decent players in. Ideally id love Hazard, Coutinho, Ozil, a Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea defender, but without removing the likes of Aguero, Sanchez or KDB this isn’t possible, and at the minute those 3 aren’t going anywhere (unless Sanchez does have a serious injury, but news on that looks promising from what I’ve read).

So what does all this mean? Unfortunately it means I’ve somehow backed myself into a corner, that looks increasingly harder to get out of. At present I’m struggling to find a way to improve my position.

WBA seem incapable of keeping clean sheets this year (a far cry from last year), but I don’t see to much better for the price anywhere else. Man City look far to open at the back, but will hopefully improve. Liverpool appear to have turned into Keegans Newcastle, or Ardiles Spurs, and seem happy to just score more than they concede. Southampton after looking promising defensively, suddenly concede 2 to Hull (no disrespect meant to any Hull fans), and face Liverpool next!

Aguero and KDB both have had spells out of the City team (and both missing penalties in the same match!), which hasn’t helped. Mata was a punt that could still work, if Jose decides to let United go for it. Firmino is doing ok, and picking up points regularly, but is being outshone by Coutinho. Sanchez, as already said, is an injury doubt, but looks like being fit for the Utd match, especially with Chile apparently resting him for their next match. That leaves Alli, who is also injured, and is probably going to be my last November transfer (although I’ll wait for team news before definitely doing a transfer), but who to put in? £4.6M doesn’t get to much at present, but Lallana, Pedro and Dembele all look possible replacements (as does Ramsey if his price drops £0.1M).

If anyone can offer any other suggestions, I’m all ears. Hopefully December will see an upturn in my fortunes if my differential players can go on a good scoring run. As always, I’ll post all transfers on twitter (@upthevale1), and try to answer all questions as quickly as possible. Hope everyone has more luck than I’ve had so far, for the rest of the season.

Thanks Simon for the update.  Good luck for the rest of November and onwards
