Sun Dream Team

Here’s the team I would choose in Sun Dream Team transfer window 4 if it allowed you to start  all over again.

Sun Dream Team transfer window 4 – My team if I could start again

It assumes the Friday press conference is positive about Sergio Aguero.  I’ve included the commentary from the best players in each position article

Here’s the team:

Here’s some commentary on each member of the team

Speroni

Great value for a keeper in a team improved by Pulis’ defensive work.

Terry

Loved by Sun Dream Team with the highest starman % of games played of any player.  Chelsea also have the extra Champions League games and a good fixture run to the end of the season.  Does have some rotation risk but he’s played every premier league team bar 2 this season through injury, not rest, and it’s hard to see Mourinho resting him at the business end of the season.  This is especially the case given that they didn’t defend particularly without him especially in the WBA game.

Sagna

Koscielny is probably the Arsenal Sun Dream Team favourite but he’s £2m more expensive and also has an injury doubt going forward.  Arsenal have a path they should take to the FA Cup final and a good schedule once the next couple of games are over.  A Koscielny injury will weaken the defence though as Vermaelen is no replacement.  Has gametime security as Jenkinson hasn’t been used as a replacement at all hardly.  The pressure to finish at least 4th will mean no risks with selection.  Also playing for a transfer or new contract so will be fully motivated

Coleman

Top goal scoring defender in the premier league with 6 goals  equal with Skrtel.  7+ awards  show that he is also consistently liked by Sun Dream Team.  No rotation risk.

Kolarov

For Man City, Kompany has a significantly better points per game stat than Kolarov and has far better gametime security.  However he’s £6.5m compared to Kolarovs £3.0m.  Kompany is a good attacking threat but Kolarov is the most dangerous attacking defensive player in the premier league in my view.  Kolarov will be rotated with Clichy but has 2 extra games as compensation.  Also with the league now the only thing to concentrate on so rotation should diminish. Kolarov seems the favoured LB.  He’s also good off the bench and often comes on as a LWM.

Hazard

Hazard has the advantage on being the star in a very good team.  He may not be the mosr consistent scorer but he has the potential to score big in any game and is a very eye catching player which also helps with Starman awards.  He has the highest % of Starman awards of anyone apart from Ramsey.  Hazard’s though are over a much larger number of games.  Going forward he has at least 2 extra games through the champions league.    Does have rotation risk due to the number of players who are attacking midfielders at the club but this hasn’t been an issue with his gametime to date.  With Chelsea alive in both the league and the Champions league it’s hard to see that he will be significantly rotated at this crucial stage of the season.

Yaya Toure

With Ramsey the midfield revelation of the season.  Hard to believe that he’s the next highest scorer in the premier league behind Suarez and Sturridge but it’s true.  Will have pen duties until Aguero is back and has also been pushed forward at times by Pellegrini for further advantage.  Starman awards are diluted by the amount of other stars in the City team but a very consistent 7+ award performer.  City have 2 extra games from postponements and it seems unlikely given his importance to the team that he will be rested.  This is especially so as City have no other competitions to concentrate on.

Lallana

Lallana is the eye catching creative force within the successful Southampton team and  his high % of Starman awards reflects his star status within the team.  No extra games but hard to see him rested or rotated due to his importance to the team

Suarez

Do I really need to say anything.  The best stats and the best form of any player.  A must have

Aguero

If someone could say that he would be fit for the rest of the season he would be a must have.  Supposedly fit for the weekend but his returns from injury  haven’t been that reliable and he’s also been pretty injury prone when back.  Unfortunately the City game is on Sunday so it’s impossible know if he will line up for that and it will all hinge on Pellegrini’s press conference on Friday

Sturridge

Has been an incredibly consistent player this season and he’s also excellent value.  Only negative is competing against Suarez for Starman awards.  However gets a 7+ award in 81% of games and scoring for fun.
