Sun Euro 2016 Dream Team tips – a 2nd draft team

Euro 2016

I thought I would start my Sun Euro 2016 Dream Team game with a reassessment after analysing the various players.  So I start with a re telling of the rules and then the teams and transfers since last time

Sun Euro 2016 Dream Team tips – a 2nd draft team

Firstly lets remind ourselves of the transfer rules which affect how our team should be lined up:

EURO DREAM TEAM GAME PHASES
Euro Dream Team will be split into three phases, which will cover all matches in Euro 2016 as per the below:

Phase 1 – matches scheduled to be played between 10 and 14 June inclusive consisting of 12 matches. They are round one of the Group matches.
Phase 2 – matches scheduled to be played between 15 and 18 June inclusive consisting of 12 matches. They are round two of the Group matches.
Phase 3 – matches scheduled to be played between 19 and 22 June inclusive consisting of 12 matches. They are round three of the Group matches.
Phase 4 – matches scheduled to be played between 25 June and 10 July inclusive consisting of 15 matches. They are all the knock-out stages of the Tournament.
MAKING TRANSFERS
Between Euro Dream Team opening and 20:00 GMT on Friday 10th June 2016, you may make unlimited transfers to your team(s).
For each of the phases one, two and three, you may make up to three transfers to your team(s) per phase. Transfers can be made between the beginning of the current phase and the beginning of the following phase.
During phase four you may make up to eleven transfers to your team(s).
For details of phase dates, please see the Euro Dream Team Game Phases section.
Transfers will take effect from the first Eligible Game starting after you have made the transfer.

So it seems you can make transfers during the phase and it doesn’t rule out transfers between matches. While it doesn’t say that the transfers will immediately take effect but thats the implication.  I’ve therefore weighted my team to the early games.  Instead of looking to fix the attacking players and rotate defenders I’ve gone the other way and fixed the defenders and looked to rotate the attacking players.

So here’s the team:

The transfers from my original team are

Glik to Dragovic  – Same price better defensive prospects

Djourou to Juanfran – a defensive upgrade although there is risk around Juanfran

Sagna to Rami – saving £1m as he seems like he will play for France

Arnautovic to Grosicki – Grosicki is an injury risk and if still tomorrow I will switch him to Austrias Junuzovic

Ronaldo to Giroud – I’ve kept the money in the bank for a switch to Ronaldo here.  That maybe unnecessarily cautious but I could use it elsewhere

I’m going to do some articles on the different positions next
