Telegraph fantasy football – Can you beat the TFF Champion?

The new 2016/17 Premier League season begins on Saturday, August 13, and managers across the country are flooding in to register their Telegraph Fantasy Football teams before play gets underway.

One name to look out for this season is Roy Frost, the 2015/16 TFF Champion, who scooped £55,000 in prize money with his winning team, city Aguero.

This year, the Champ is confident he can retain his title with his brand new team, Roy’s Flyers, so we decided to catch up with him and find out which players have made his starting XI.

Here’s his team:

“With Jose Mourinho in charge at Old Trafford I expect United to have a very tight defence this year so David De Gea and Eric Bailly both make my starting XI. I’ve also stuck with England’s great hope for the future, Marcus Rashford, up front – he looked fantastic at the end of last year (and his very few minutes on the pitch at the Euros) and I truly believe Mourinho will develop him into something ‘special.’

Everton have a new manager too and I’m hoping they’ll produce a much better defensive display this season (surely it can’t be as bad as the last). Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines look like the best value in terms of points potential that I can see in the defensive category.

Tony Pulis loves a clean sheet and West Brom’s centre backs are threatening from corners so both Craig Dawson and Gareth McAuley have earned a place in my team.

Arsene Wenger plays the beautiful game and attacks in force, but it’s always quite difficult to know who he will play. Sanchez will always start when he’s fit and is fantastic value this year at just £6million. TFF have moved him from the striker category down to midfield and I assume he will amass a huge points total for his price, not forgetting he was worth £7.2million last year.

Aaron Ramsey is also one of the first names on the team sheet when fit and offers great value at just £5.1million. I’ll definitely be on the look out for this season’s Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez as soon as we get underway too.

I wanted a Tottenham midfielder and it was a toss up between Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen. The latter just edged it for me but I still might change back to Alli who is just so influential in Pochettino’s team.

In my opinion, Sergio Aguero is the best player in the Premier League by a ‘country mile’ and whenever he is fit he will always have a place in my team (same as last season).

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for another good year and just can’t wait for TFF 16/17 to get underway!”
