55 gameweek points Overall rank 3,018 transfers available 36

An unspectacular week, 55 points scored, 3 transfers used and positioned 3018 overall. Still no Alonso who is tearing up it up. When will I learn ! At least the International football is over for a while.

I had always planned the transfer Firmino to Augbamayang and that went well with a farewell goal from the Brazilian and a first for the season from the Arsenal striker. Although with hindsight I would have taken Lacazette who I think may outscore his partner in the short term. I also took the opportunity to swap Robertson and Allison for Stones and Ederson with City’s extra game and Liverpool’s tougher looking fixtures. I’m not sure how this move will pan out, really need 2 extra clean sheets from the City defenders over the next 4 or 5 weeks to justify the move.

Barring injuries or 3 match suspensions I don’t see any transfers being made this weekend. The very best to your weekend!

49 gameweek points Overall rank 2,756 transfers available 34

Decent week point wise with 49 for a rank improvement to 2,756, which I think is very good this early given that many teams on top are attempts for the monthly prize, and therefore will have used many transfers. However, I used 2 transfers on the week, the planned of Robertson to Alonso which was great, plus Zaha to Bellerin following on the formers injury, which returned zero points, but I think the move will bring points over the lovely run of games that Arsenal have.

So I really need to slow down on the use of transfers if I want to meet my goal of reaching the end of the season with a healthy margin. Therefore, unless mishaps, I am planning on a calm September with only Schlupp out when/if he loses his starting place, plus Bernardo Silva out probably after GW7 home game to Brighton. On my watchlist are an Arsenal attacker if any of them can establish himself, Richarlison when back, Leicester, Spurs and Wolves players.

Good luck for GW5 Geekers !

Week points: 44  Overall rank: 15,113  Transfers remaining: 38

That was a little better than last week. 44 isn’t a great score, but it’s far from disastrous.

Luckily, my two transfers worked out well. I swapped Richarlison and Aubameyang for Hazard and Alonso. This meant a 5-3-2, which is something I haven’t done too often. It certainly improved my team, but I was a bit concerned about ditching Aubameyang with his good fixtures. I’m just hoping that his poor match stats continue while Hazard and Alonso can keep filling their fantasy buckets.

I was once again a bit disappointed that Man City couldn’t keep a clean sheet, and at the Crystal Palace no show, but the fixtures are still on their side, so hopefully the points will come.

I feel much better with Hazard in the side, especially when I see his little icon next to Salah. I’m hoping that Maddison can flourish now that Leicester’s fixtures are looking quite rosy. Apparently he was man of the match against Liverpool, shame you don’t get points for that anymore.

It is surely only a matter of time before Aguero fills his boots again, so he won’t be going anywhere. There is a temptation to transfer Arnautovic for Mitrovic £4.3m or Wilson £5.0m, especially with the latter’s fixtures. Mitrovic is a tricky one. If he can keep up anything like his form thus far, it would be madness not to bring him in for that price. But can he keep it up, whilst playing in a newly promoted side?

Transfer plans

My only planned move at the moment is that of Socrates to Richarlison, once his ban is served. This will mean a return to 4-4-2. I shall be hoping in the mean time that Arsenal can finally come up with a clean sheet, I won’t be holding my breath.

Good luck.
