Here’s our review of how the FFGeek team is progressing in Telegraph fantasy football

So here’s the team. At the moment my overall rank is a reasonable 5,848 out of the estimated players of around 250k. The FFGeek £100 league to the winner though is very strong and I’m well behind in 179th position. 4 transfers used and no cash in the bank

tff...3.9team

In defence Valencia and Dawson have performed well. My 2nd premium defender of Stones has been disappointing. He’s great value though and I’m confident clean sheets will come for Man City. Stekelenburg is great value as an Everton GK. No one came in the transfer window so he should hold his place.

In attack I’ve got a very expensive core of Aguero, Ibrahimovic, Sanchez and Hazard. I’m very happy with that but will have to make an adjustment for Aguero. The big 4 core does mean a big sacrifice in the rest of the attacking players so I’ve gone for a mixture of good fixtures and set piece involvement in midfield with Puncheon, Bolasie and Ramirez.

Radical surgery is needed to deal with Aguero  but as I generally try and keep to 3 transfers per month it isn’t going to be easy to take him out and get him
back without using alot of transfers unless I bank the cash. The options without doubling up on teams is tricky. That takes me away from Costa and Lukaku. Kane and Vardy are the obvious alternatives for Aguero but neither are in the greatest form although Spurs have some good fixtures.

Lets look at the cost of some of the new transfers around deadline day:

Forwards

Bony £5.4m
Benteke £5.2m
Slimani £4.9m
Lucas Perez £5.2m
Zaza £5.0m
Remy £4.6m
E Valencia £4.3m

Midfield

Wilshere £4.3m
Chadli £4.0m
Boufal £4.1m
Sissoko £4.5m

Defenders

Luiz £4.3m
Mustafi £4.2m
Arbeloa £3.3m
Alonso £3.8m

You can see all the stats of the players in my FPL article on the new players

Bony and Benteke are a similar price to the likes of Deeney, Carroll and Defoe so aren’t badly priced.

Chadli appears to be the best midfield otion if you can get over WBA’s defensive style. Alonso at LB if he can hold is place, especially if he plays as a wing back, is good value for Chelsea and has a good attacking record.
