Here’s our Sun Dream Team catch up coming to the end of the International break. As usual we look at the FFGeek’s team progress, the injuries and the potential emergency transfer replacements and lastly the team leading the FFGeek league and the overall league.
The Sun Dream Team – the week that was Match Week 9
The FFGeek Team
It’s still slow progress to try and match last seasons score of 15, 853 overall finish. The 5 goal performance from Aguero and the goal and 2 assists from Kevin De Bruyne moved the team up the overall ranking from 220k last week to 150k overall this week. Still along way off an ideal target but at least it’s moving forward. By the way if you didn’t know you can only get you overall score by going in to the overall league position on the app. It seems impossible to get it on the lap top for some reason?
Here’s the weekly scores:
In terms of individual performances as I said above Aguero’s 5 goals and De Bruynes 2 assists plus a goal helped the position greatly. Ozil finally contributed something with 10 points in the win over Man Utd which also meant Bellerin with a clean sheet contributed positively with 8 points. On the negatives the loss to Arsenal saw a -3 contribution from the Man Utd players and the Chelsea duo of Hazard and Ivanovic contributed another negative score of -2 in the quite shocking loss against Southampton
The injuries are mounting to the team with the emergency transfer used. Aguero is out until the 21st November with a hamstring injury. Kolarov’s doen’t seem to have a time line at the moment but is apparently another hamstring injury. Ivanovic looks to be a couple of weeks off although that maybe a blessing and stem the tide of negative scores he’s giving me.
Injuries and emergency transfer options
There have been a few notable injuries that have occured over the gameweek and the international break. Here’s the injuries and a few options if you’ve still got your emergency transfer up your sleeve.
Aguero £7.0m
The most obvious injury is that of Aguero who’s out for about a month with a hamstring injury obtained unhelpfully over the international break.
Here’s some stats on some options
Alexis Sanchez. (£6.5m – 79 points – Points Per Game 8.8 – 7+ rating 89% – starman rating 11% )
Probably the most obvious given his current form of 5 goals in his last 2 premier league games. Has been carrying an injury himself so the Friday managers press conference will be useful
Bony (£4.5m – 11 points – Points Per Game 3.7 – 7+ rating 100% – starman rating 0% )
A gamble that Aguero will be out until the next transfer window in November although Bony will probably lose his place when Aguero returns given that Pellegrini has looked to play a lone striker system in the main so far this season. This would mean a very short term view of what are quite precious transfers at this time of the year. With Pellegrini having used Sterling as a striking option and criticisng Bony’s fitness then Bony has gametime issues himself.
Sturridge (£5.5m – 16 points – Points Per Game 5.3 – 7+ rating 67% – starman rating 0% )
Has the proven record but very injury prone and with just coming back from injury and with Liverpool having a good stock of strikers may end up being rotated.
Kane (£5.0m – 30 points – Points Per Game 3.0 – 7+ rating 80% – starman rating 0% )
Has been unlucky and with little striking support maybe forced to play additional games in the Europa League. Out of the Capital One which is a negative point.
Pelle (£6.5m – 74 points – Points Per Game 7.4 – 7+ rating 80% – starman rating 10% )
Probably the best of the non European playing teams. In good form with good Premier league fixtures to come. It’s just whether missing out on the extra games is an issue. Still in the Capital One
Lukaku (£6.5m – 79 points – Points Per Game 7.9 – 7+ rating 70% – starman rating 10% )
Been in very good form despite tricky fixtures. Good fixtures to come. Still in the Capital One
Diego Costa (£6.5m – 24 points – Points Per Game 3.4 – 7+ rating 43% – starman rating 0% )
Some good fixtures coming up but injury and suspension prone as well as having 2 back ups in Remy and Falcao so easy to rotate
Tim Krul £2.0m
The £2.0m Newcastle GK is out for the season
Not worth investing too much money here. A straight swap would be for Stetelenburg of Southampton at the same price. Gomes of Watford at £1.0m seems the best cheap option with their defence looking good and his shot stopping proving beneficial. Begovic of Chelsea at £3.0m if youre in a gambling mood and think that Mourinho can repair the Chelsea defence
Silva
Only out until 8th November. Possibly not worth the emergency transfer.
Kevin De Bruyne or Walcott (although has rotation and 90 minute issues) are probably the best options. Lamela is another if you want to take more risk especially as he maybe rotated for the Europa League games. Coutinho is another option for Liverpool although he is an injury doubt and needs monitoring. Mata for Man Utd.
Other short term injuries or doubts
Schweinsteigers injury looks short term. Son of Spurs and Koscielny also look short term as does Evans and Morrison of WBA. Ivanovic of Chelsea also looks to be only a couple of weeks
The FFGEEK league leader’s team and the overall league leaders team
FFGeek
The overall
As you can see the teams are dominated by the teams in the European competitions. If you include Southampton who were knocked out in the preliminaries of the Europa League then the only non European competition competing player is Dawson.
Remember you to check the state of the fitness of any emergency transfer you may make.
