After 2 weeks of prevaricating Ive made my 3 Sun Dream Team transfers. Here’s the detail and the full Sun Dream Team with explanations why and why not
The 3 transfers are as follows:
Enrique out – Gibbs in
Enrique’s place hasn’t looked safe and Liverpool’s defence the same. The reverse is true for Arsenal. 3 clean sheets in a row and underlying stats to back up the improvement. Gibbs has cemented his place over Santos and looks good going forward. A secure option without having to invest the extra Sun Dream Team money for Vermaelen
Borini out Jelavic in
Borini hasn’t started as I would have liked and while there is an attraction in knowing he will have to play every week due to there only being 2 strikers, the quality and fixtures of Jelavic are just too hard to ignore.
Huth out S Reid in
This was the value filler. Not my first choice of WBA defender in Sun Dream Team by any stretch. He’s facing a late fitness test today so may not even play. However, in my mind WBA have the potential for a real strong defence and while I would have preffered Ridgewell or McAuley the money just wasn’t there.
Heres the rest of the Sun Dream Team and a commentary of my thinking about each of them:
Howard (£3.0m)
EVE
Good defence, good fixtures and good value compared to the elite keepers
S Reid (£1.5m)
WBA

Cole (£6.0m)
CHE
My preference would be Ivanovic especially as he’s £1m cheaper but I wasn’t keen on Stokes fixtures so I’ve so Ive changed Huth rather than Cole. Cole is now a bit of a rotation risk with Bertrand becoming a viable playing option but there’s enough competitions and games for him to play regularlyZabaleta (£4.0m)
MCY
A risky one due to Maicon’a arrival and Richards back in training. However, he has versatility and value on his side in that he can play RB or CB. With 4 competitions I expect him to play alot of games. In addition should play in all 3-5-2 formation games that Mancini plays as a CB.Gibbs (£3.5m)
LIV

Hazard (£4.0m)

TOT
Been a total disaster and extremely expensive but surely even AVB cant mess up a player of this quality. I’ve stuck with him and the key is his fixtures up to the next transfer window which means I just cant transfer him out. Has the potential for goals and star man performances every time he steps on the pitch. Has kept shooting but just not in the box.
van Persie (£8.0m)
MAN
Aguero (£7.0m)
MCY
Jelavic (£3.5m)

Wont play today I’m sure but I didn’t think it was worth a transfer to put Tevez in just for 2 games that will be difficult in any case so I’m sticking with him and using transfers elsewhere. Is absolute total quality.
So thats it. I think today will be a difficult one with potentially Aguero, Zabaleta, Cole and S Reid not playing but this is only 1 week and I think these are the best transfers looking in the long term.
Good luck everyone!
