fantasy premier league new format – ultimate fantasy premier league

Fantasy Premier League, News

Ultimate fantasy premier league?  Youve probably all heard already, but just in case, fantasy premier league have given some early information about an additional format to the free fantasy premier league format called ultimate fantasy premier league

The information says ultimate fantasy premier league is “A new pay to play game for the 201314 season.  manage a 25 man squad for £160m against match day deadlines within each game week for the chance to win £15,000 or the £1,000 monthly prize”

There’s no more details than that.  The fantasy premier league style seems to be to release things bit by bit in order to generate incremental interest and I imagine information on ultimate fantasy premier league will follow that.

Interestingly it follows what I believe are the 25 man squad rules in the premier league itself where you announce a 25 man squad to get you through to the transfer window.  When the window ends you then have to reister another 25 man squad to get you through to the end of the season.  There are various rules within that about home grown players etc.

So usng that to join the dots.   I  interpret that ultimate fantasy premier league will be a format where you pick a 25 man squad at the beginning of the season, have no transfers until the window and then either have  a wildcard of sorts where you can transfer 1 player out once or you have a 1 week wildcard as per fantasy premier league.  Your new 25 man squad then has to get you through to the end of the season.

If this is what ultimate fantasy premier league is it sounds very interesting and not time consuming once youve picked your initial squad.  It would be unlike any other format.  I’ll definitely be in it unless I’ve got the format horribly wrong.  I cant imagine with the limited prize money that the entry fee will be very high.

More details on ultimate fantasy premier league to follow as I imagine they will come dribbling through
