Lineup comment:

Argentina:  De Michelis came in for Fernandez and Basanta for the suspended Rojo

Player comment:

Messi

Quieter than ususal but still involved in the goal and should have sealed it late on when 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper

Higuain

For once looked like the club and qualifying player instead of the absent striker of the WC to date.  Great goal

Di Maria

Looked lively but now ruled out of the rest of the World Cup with a thigh injury

Sun Dream Team scoring

Argentina:  All players got at least 7 except Mascherano.  Messi got an 8 and Higuain was the Star Man with 9

Holland 0 Costa Rica 0 (Holland win on pens)

Line up comment:

Holland:  Martins Indi came in for Verhaegh.  Depay came in for the injuured De Jong

Player comment:

RVP

Very disappointing for the 2nd time in a row and this time he couldn’t blame lack of chances.  Missed 1 sitter.

Robben

Excellent again causing havoc running at people.

Sneijder

Getting better each game of the tournament and hit the woodwork twice here.  Deeper than ususal so relied on free kicks and shots outside the box.  However I suspect Holland will revert to 2 up front so he can play further up the field

The Dutch defence

Kept a clean sheet although certainly not very inspiring.  Hard to see it continuing against Argentina

Sun Dream Team scoring:

Holland:  Vlaar De Vrij Kuyt and Sneijder got 7’s.  Robben was the Star Man with 8.  How it wasn’t the GK Navas is beyond me.

Thats it.  Enjoy the day of rest.
