Barclays fantasy premier league – forwards GW16 “ones to watch” Buy Hold Sell

There is no rule for forwards just pick the best ones especially now with goals virtually guaranteeing bonus points:

I’ve provided the following stats to support the player choices and to guide you in your decisions.  I’ve now moved this to this year’s stats:

1.  Goals and assists this year.

2.  Time per point scored this year.  This is how many minutes it takes for a Barclays fantasy premier league point to be scored over the course of the season.  The lower the better obviously.   I’ve now moved to this years stats

3.  Rotation risk.  High, medium or low.  High is the greatest risk of rotation.

4.  Fixture ease ranking:  The link is at the bottom of the article but essentially I’ve ranked all the teams by the ease of the first 6 fixtures.  The team with the best ranking ie 1 will have the easiest next fixtures of any of the fantasy premier league teams over the next 6 games.

5.  Consistency:  The % of times that the player got a goal or assist   as a % of games played

6.  I’ve also ranked them in their categories as who I think is currently the best choice

7.  I’ve added a new feature.  The last 5 return consistency rate.  This will show the amount of games in the last 5 played that have resulted in a goal or assist

Forwards

1.  Suarez (£12.8m) BUY

Goals and assists: 14 goals and 7 assists:     Time per point scored:  7.9  mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 20th.  Consistency 8/10    80%               Last 5 return consistency rate:  4/5

A must have at the moment given current form.  Backed up by great underlying shooting and creating chances stats.  A few tricky fixtures now that may slow prduction down a little.

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Tottenham (A)
Cardiff City (H)
Man City (A)
Chelsea (A)
Hull City (H)
Stoke City (A)

2.  Aguero (£12.5m) BUY

  • Goals and assists:  12 goals 8 assists.  Time per point scored: 9.5  mins .  Rotation risk: medium.   fixture ease ranking: 4th.  Consistency     9/12  75%   Last 5 return  rate:  3/5

Another in great form as well.  Can have games when the ball wont go in for him and rotation are the only shadows.  Best underlying shooting and creating chances stats with Suarez.  Good fixtures after the Arsenal game

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Arsenal (H)
Fulham (A)
Liverpool (H)
Crystal Palace (H)
Swansea (A)
Newcastle (A)

3. Rooney (£11.1m)  BUY

  • Goals and assists: 8 goals and 7 assists:     Time per point scored:  12.1  mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 16th.  Consistency 10/13   77%  Last 5 return rate:  4/5

Great consistency and form despite Uniteds troubles.  Now show underlying stats for shooting to add to the creating chances stats he’s always had.

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Aston Villa (A)
West Ham (H)
Hull City (A)
Norwich (A)
Tottenham (H)
Swansea (H)

4.  Lukaku (£8.5m) BUY

  • Goals and assists  8 goals 3 assists.  Time per point scored:  12.8  mins  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 2nd.  Consistency for Everton  8/11   73%  Last 5 return rate:  4/5

This is all about fixtures and price.  Great value for his returns to date.  Excellent fixtures coming up.  Only shadow is the disappearance of creating chances stats which will lead to a slow down in assists.  I think this is because he is constantly trying to get behind the defence rather than someone like Giroud or Rooney who bring others into the game more

Fulham (H)
Swansea (A)
Sunderland (H)
Southampton (H)
Stoke City (A)
Norwich (H)

5.  Remy (£8.2m) HOLD

  • Goals and assists:  8 goals 2 assists.  Time per point scored:  13.2 mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 9th.  Consistency 8/13  62%          Last 5 return rate:  3/5

2 games without a return are enough to send fantasy premier league managers into a spin with forwards in these days of intense competition for places.  However has good fundamental shooting and creating chances stats.  Is also good value.  Fixtures are a little mixed though.

Crystal Palace (A)
Stoke City (H)
Arsenal (H)
West Brom (A)

6.  Negredo (£9.3m) HOLD

  • Goals and assists:  6 goals 3 assists.  Time per point scored: 13.0  mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 4th.  Consistency     7/14  50%        Last 5 return rate:  3/5

Only 60 minutes again at Saints and didn’t have anything like the chances Aguero did.

As I said the last 2 weeks for £3m or so less than Aguero you have a striker with great returns so far.  However the downsides are.

1. Far less gametime security.  His average minutes played is 58 mins when playing.  This should improve given his relationship with Aguero

2.  Nothing like Aguero’s underlying stats to back returns up.  Just registering on the shots and creating chances register.  Strange as he was criticised for poor conversion in Spain

3.  Now looking like he will play behind Aguero as he did against Spurs to help equalise the midfield when City play 4-4-2.

4.  Doesn’t have pens like Aguero

However if you’re willing to make those sacrifices his form is good.  I’ll stick with Aguero though.  More reliable as a captain choice

Giroud (£9.1m) SELL

  • Goals and assists:  7 goals 4 assists.  Time per point scored:  15.3 mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 18th.  Consistency 8/13   62%    last 5 return rate: 1/5

Going through a dip in form best shown by his airshot in front of goal against Everton.  Could be through lack of rotation but 1 return in his last 5 isn’t keeping form.  With Ozil and Ramsey coverage for Arsenal and Man City away plus some other tricky fixtures this seems a good time to exit

Newcastle (A)
Cardiff City (H)

Benteke (£8.8m) SELL

  • Goals and assists:  4 goals 0 assists.  Time per point scored: 23.8  mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 10th.  Consistency     3/13  23%        Last 5 return rate:  0/5

Has to go.  A shame after doing everything right except scoring.  if youre very kind you may hold until the away game at soke given the state of the man utd defence at the moment
