Barclays fantasy premier league – forwards GW15 “ones to watch” Buy Hold Sell

Here’s the “ones to watch” for forwards on the Barclays fantasy premier league  in a buy hold sell format for GW15.  This will give the best forward players at a variety of price ranges

There is no rule for forwards just pick the best ones especially now with goals virtually guaranteeing bonus points:

I’ve provided the following stats to support the player choices and to guide you in your decisions.  I’ve now moved this to this year’s stats:

1.  Goals and assists this year.

2.  Time per point scored this year.  This is how many minutes it takes for a Barclays fantasy premier league point to be scored over the course of the season.  The lower the better obviously.   I’ve now moved to this years stats

3.  Rotation risk.  High, medium or low.  High is the greatest risk of rotation.

4.  Fixture ease ranking:  The link is at the bottom of the article but essentially I’ve ranked all the teams by the ease of the first 6 fixtures.  The team with the best ranking ie 1 will have the easiest next fixtures of any of the fantasy premier league teams over the next 6 games.

5.  Consistency:  The % of times that the player got a goal or assist   as a % of games played

6.  I’ve also ranked them in their categories as who I think is currently the best choice

7.  I’ve added a new feature.  The last 5 return consistency rate.  This will show the amount of games in the last 5 played that have resulted in a goal or assist

Forwards

1.  Suarez (£12.5m) BUY

Goals and assists: 13 goals and 5 assists:     Time per point scored:  8.2  mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 20th.  Consistency 7/9    78%               Last 5 return consistency rate:  3/5

The striker who has it all.  Great captain option as well with big hauls.  About to hit some bumpy fixtures but makes no odds.  No Sturridge no problem on the Norwich evidence.  Great underlying shooting and creating chances stats to back it up.  A must have

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

West Ham (H)
Tottenham (A)
Cardiff City (H)
Man City (A)
Chelsea (A)
Hull City (H)

2.  Aguero (£12.4m) BUY

  • Goals and assists:  11 goals 8 assists.  Time per point scored: 9.2  mins .  Rotation risk: medium.   fixture ease ranking: 8th.  Consistency     8/11  73%   Last 5 return  rate:  4/5

In great form and like Suarez a great captain option capable of big hauls.  Goals backed up by great underlying shooting and creating chances stats.  A couple of tricky fixtures before a good 3/4.

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Southampton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Fulham (A)
Liverpool (H)
Crystal Palace (H)
Swansea (A)

3.  Lukaku (£8.2m) HOLD

  • Goals and assists:  8 goals 2 assists.  Time per point scored:  12.5  mins  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 7th.  Consistency for Everton  7/10   70%  Last 5 return rate:  3/5

Should never doubt his talent.   Returned in his last 3 after drawing 2 blanks.  Really gave the United backline  a hard time.  After the Arsenal game some great fixtures.

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Arsenal (A)
Fulham (H)
Swansea (A)
Sunderland (H)
Southampton (H)
Stoke City (A)

4. Rooney (£11.2m)  HOLD (Suspended GW15)

  • Goals and assists: 8 goals and 7 assists:     Time per point scored:  12.1  mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 9th.  Consistency 10/13   77%  Last 5 return rate:  4/5

Great consistency and form.  Just starting to show underlying stats for shooting to add to the creating chances stats he’s always had.

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Newcastle (H)
Aston Villa (A)
West Ham (H)
Hull City (A)
Norwich (A)
Tottenham (H)

5.  Giroud (£9.2m) HOLD

  • Goals and assists:  7 goals 4 assists.  Time per point scored:  13.7 mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 17th.  Consistency 8/12   67%    last 5 return rate: 3/5

Funny how the best laid plans in fantasy premier league work out.  I planned to hold Giroud until after the Hull game and then transfer in Rooney for the Newcastle home game.  Giroud is rested and Rooney gets suspended?  The best laid plans and all that.

Still got consistent performance backed up by good underlying shooting and creating chances stats.  3 triaky fixtures next though which isn’t helpful.

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Everton (H)
Man City (A)
Chelsea (H)
West Ham (A)
Newcastle (A)
Cardiff City (H)

6.  Remy (£8.2m) HOLD

  • Goals and assists:  8 goals 2 assists.  Time per point scored:  12.4 mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 14th.  Consistency 8/12  67%          Last 5 return rate:  4/5

Continues returning.  Now with good  underlying shooting and creating chances stats to back it up. 2 good fixtures among some tricky ones

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Man Utd (A)
Southampton (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Stoke City (H)
Arsenal (H)
West Brom (A)

7.  Negredo (£9.3m) HOLD

  • Goals and assists:  5 goals 3 assists.  Time per point scored: 12.4  mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 8th.  Consistency     7/13  54%        Last 5 return rate:  3/5

Showed graphically the issues in owning him by being rested for the WBA game.  However at least he avoided the 1 point 5 minute substitute fiasco which has happened before.

As I said last week for £3m less than Aguero you have a striker with great returns so far.  However the downsides are.

1. Far less gametime security.  His average minutes played is 58 mins when playing.  This should improve given his relationship with Aguero

2.  Nothing like Aguero’s underlying stats to back returns up.  Just registering on the shots and creating chances register.  Strange as he was criticised for poor conversion in Spain

3.  Now looking like he will play behind Aguero as he did against Spurs to help equalise the midfield when City play 4-4-2.

4.  Doesn’t have pens like Aguero

However if you’re willing to make those sacrifices his form is good.  I’ll stick with Aguero though.  More reliable as a captain choice

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Southampton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Fulham (A)
Liverpool (H)
Crystal Palace (H)
Swansea (A)

8.  Benteke (£8.9m) HOLD

  • Goals and assists:  4 goals 0 assists.  Time per point scored: 22.7  mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 1st.  Consistency     3/12  25%        Last 5 return rate:  0/5

By all accounts dropped rather than rested for the Saints game incredibly.  Has been unlucky.  Getting the chances but just not converting them.  His replacement Kozak then scored. Whatever happens there is no way I would drop him before a game against Fulham

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Fulham (A)
Man Utd (H)
Stoke City (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Swansea (H)
Sunderland (A)
