Barclays fantasy premier league – “ones to watch” – game week 4

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s the GW4  fantasy premier league “ones to watch”.  This is a menu of fantasy premier league players to pick from for your team with factors stating why. (values as at Sunday 9/9)

I’ve also put the removals  in strikethrough to show you who has come off from last week and why.  The new players and reasons why are added  in italics to make it easier to follow.  Below each position if applicable is a “bubbling under”  category for monitoring certain players before they are added to the “ones to watch” list.  Remember these are fantasy premier league players in would have in my team.   at the bottom is a key if you want a bit more detail on the factors listed

GOALKEEPER

Hart – £7.0m quality

De Gea – £6.0m quality value

may just go straight back in so wouldn’t panic sell but wouldn’t transfer him in until this is resolved

Foster – £5.0m quality.  CS.  should be clean sheets and save points here

£4.5m budget

Ruddy

Jaaskelainen

Federici

Davis

Begovic  seems to have sealed his place

DEFENCE

Zabaleta-£6.0m – value best value city def

Injured and problems on the horizon with short term tricky fixtures plus Maicon arrival plus Richards coming back in to training in a month.  not a panic sell yet but dont bring him in

Rafael – =£5.6m – value.  attack

Ivanovic – £6.8m  attack value

Hibbert  £5.5m – fixtures and value

sub last time out and casts doubt on game time

Jagielka  – £6.1m fixtures.

cheapest certain route in to team.  If youve got the cash for Baines youll get the returns

Hangeland £5.0m – value fixtures sleeping giant

Ridgewell – £5.0m  fixtures.  attack.

Jenkinson – £4.8m  value.  plus better defence from arsenal.  Difficult fixtures and will lose position when Sagna back butgood until then

Gibbs – £5.5m CS.  the best certain game time value.  Saints H next but city A and Chelsea H after that

Budget £4.0m ish

Clyne – Saints attack

Fonte – saints

Demel – £4.1m  west ham

Gorkks – £3.9m  Reading

MIDFIELD

Hazard – £10.1m –  Quality. form.

Bale – £9.4m – Quality. fixtures.

Kagawa – £8.6m – Quality.  GW2 fixtures.

Lampard – £8.9m  –  Quality.  Never write him off, even in 4-2-3-1  11 goals last year. pens

Michu – £7.3m – fixtures. form.  (15 la liga goals last season)

Noble – £5.0m – fixtures pens

Too deep and not enough goals in west ham to justify the extra£0.5m spend

Pienaar –  £6.6m – fixtures. form

Fellaini – £6.9m form.  fixtures. played in an advanced position again.  Good underlying stats too

Nolan – £6.1m  some really good fixtures.  Bit dearer than id like but plays in such an advanced position you would think he will score

Morrison – £6.0m  fixtures.  form.  The best of the WBA midfielders with a goal threat.  Most advanced position wise as well.

Cazorla – £9.0m  quality.  form.  most advanced midfielder for Arsenal.  Saints H next but City A and Chelsea H after that mean may be best to wait.

Budget £4.5m ish

Guthrie – £4.4m  Reading – best choice

Britton – £4.4m  Swansea – monitor as place under threat from Yueng

Whitehead  – £4.5m Stoke YC risk

Cattermole – £4.5m  Sunderland YC risk

Diakite – QPR YC rise

Schneiderlin – £4.5m  Saints

Sterling – £4.5m  a risk with Assaidi being purchased but with form shown maybe worth it

Bubbling under

Nasri – £8.6m  Still looking like a rotation risk for away games.  will be interesting to see if he plays this week

Sigurdsson

substitution in GW3 shows theres no safety and with Dempsey coming makes it worse

FORWARDS

Tevez £9.8m – quality. form.

RVP – £13.4m – QUALITY

Adebayor -£9.6m  fixtures

Jelavic – £8.5m – fixtures quality

Graham – £6.0m  fixtures.

I wouldnt sell him with the fixtures but not showing enough to put in your team

Petric/Ruiz – good fixtures and good stats and returns.  I personally like Ruiz but its difficult

Berba transfer and Rodallega here throws everything in to confusion.  No rush to sell wuth the fixtures but needs monitoring.  this week will be very interesting

Lambert – £6.0m  form value

the fixtures will get better soon and has shown an eye for goal and set piece strength

I’m not putting a budget section for strikers.  I just think the position is too important and theres too much quality to put a filler in.  However Pogrebnyak at £4.9m is the best option if you really must.

Bubbling under

Suarez – £9.4m  if he could shoot he would be lethal.  needs more monitoring and better fixtures

Lukaku – £6.5mWatch him to see if he can get starts.  He is some player.  fixtures are good just needs a chance

Odemwingie – £7.0m quality. value.   fixtures.  with WBA looking strong just needs to show he will start before being considered in 12w.

KEY

quality – an elite player for his position

value – a player at a value that is less than the returns I expect

fixtures – a player facing good fixtures over the next 6 games

budget – filler at the minimum price the position allows. Should play

sleeping giant – a player with past form who may have had a quiet season last year but has the potential for far greater returns than his value

YC – card magnet

DGW – has 2 games in the specified game week

pre-season – has pre-season form

pens – should take penalties

short term – will only play for a few games

Form – current form
