Barclays fantasy premier league “ones to watch” game week 6

Player Rankings

Here’s the GW6  fantasy premier league “ones to watch”.  This is a menu of fantasy premier league players to pick from for your team with factors stating why. (values as at Thursday 27/9)

I’ve also put the removals  in strikethrough to show you who has come off from last week.    The new fantasy premier league players and reasons why are added  in italics to make it easier to follow.  Below each position if applicable is a “bubbling under”  category for monitoring certain fantasy premier league players before they are added to the “ones to watch” list.  Remember these are fantasy premier league players in would have in my team.   At the bottom is a key if you want a bit more detail on the factors listed

GOALKEEPER

Hart – £7.0m quality defence will come right.  The underlying defensive stats are still good.  Fixtures come right after Arsenal

Foster – £5.1m quality.  CS.  Should be clean sheets and save points here.  Good fixtures incl home to RDG next

£4.5m ish  budget with game time security.  Pair up for Home and Away rotation

Ruddy

Jaaskelainen

Begovic

McCarthy – £4.0m Reading.  Federici injured with no return date

Bubbling under

Guzan – £4.5m  can anybody be first choice with Lambert in charge.  Seems to have nailed it but that’s just when you end up on the bench in Lambert world.  Monitor a couple more games

Mannone -£4.5m Arsenal.  Short term  3rd choice keeper in first place due to injury.  W Szczesny game week 8

DEFENCE

Rafael – £5.7m – value.  attack

Ivanovic – £7.0m  attack value.  Fixtures are getting worse though.  Jury still out on Chelsea defence but hold for now.  Dont buy but not a definite sell yet.

Jagielka  – £6.1m fixtures.  If youve got the cash for Baines you’ll get the returns

Hangeland £5.0m – value fixtures sleeping giant.

Jenkinson – £4.9m  value.  Plus better defence from Arsenal.  Difficult fixtures and should lose position when Sagna back in GW7 but good until then.  Don’t buy but don’t sell until Sagna effect realised

Gibbs – £5.7m CS.  The best certain game time value in the Arsenal defence.  Hold off until after City A and Chelsea H

McAuley – £5.3m – fixtures.  Attack.  Probably the most secure game time wise with Popov joining as competition for Ridgewell

Budget £4.0m ish

Clyne – Saints attack.  fixtures.

Fonte – saints

Demel – £4.2m  west ham

Gorkks – £3.9m  Reading.  fixtures

Nelsen – QPR £3.9m fixtures.  budget.  A short term batch of good fixtures coming.  Seems to have held his place.  Has the potential to nick a goal.

Bubbling under

Johnson – £6.4m. Good attacking stats. Fixtures slightly improving after United at Home.  Need to monitor whether Rodgers has improved the defence

MIDFIELD

Hazard – £10.3m –  Dont buy but not necessarily a sell just yet.  Poor fixtures.

Bale – £9.3m – Quality. fixtures now against him.  Dont buy but monitor for whether he has the quality to ride the bad fixtures out

Lampard – £8.9m  –  Quality.  Never write him off, even in 4-2-3-1  11 goals last year. pens. Sorry lamps I believe in you but poor fixtures and rotation means youve got to go for now

Michu – £7.4m – fixtures. form.  Return him when the fixtures improve

Pienaar –  £6.7m – fixtures. form

Fellaini – £7.2m form.  fixtures. played in an advanced position again.  Good underlying stats too

Nolan – £6.2m  some really good fixtures.  Bit dearer than I’d like but plays in such an advanced position you would think he will score.  Fixtures will soon start to turn.  Dont sell just yet but dont buy

Morrison – £6.0m  fixtures.  Not producing just at the moment but the best of the WBA midfielders with a goal threat.  Most advanced position wise as well.

Cazorla – £9.3m  quality.  form.  Most advanced midfielder for Arsenal.   Chelsea H next but after that fixtures improved.  Shoots far too much outside the box and a bit assist based but I wouldnt criticise you if he was in your team.

Lallana – £6.0m – fixtures have improved.  Good underlying stats

Gervinho – £7.3m –  form.  Playing as a striker.  fixtures improve after Chelsea H

Budget £4.5m ish

Guthrie – £4.4m  Reading – Fixtures.  Best choice with Kacaniklic and Sterling

Britton – £4.4m  Swansea – monitor as place under threat from Ki.  Lost his place last week.

Whitehead  – £4.5m Stoke YC risk.  Lost place to Adam

Cattermole – £4.5m  Sunderland YC risk.  3 match ban

Schneiderlin – £4.5m  Saints

Sterling – £4.6m  a risk with Assaidi being purchased but with form shown maybe worth it

Kacaniklic – £4.7m 2 assists last week should secure his place above Richardson.  Best choice with Guthrie

El Ahmadi – £4.5m.

Puncheon – £4.4m.  game time risk with Do Prado but seems to have held his place

Bubbling under

Sigurdsson – £8.6m  form.   The Dempsey affect means not for now

Snodgrass.   – £5.9m – form.  good underlying stats.   fixtures not great moved right side instead of behind striker

Ben Arfa.   – £7.9m Quality.  form. I would wait for fixtures to improve but go for home to Norwich if youre a big fan

Hoilett – fixtures.  £6.0m.  A little expensive.  QPR have some good fixtures coming and showed good form last week. would be a punt this week home to West Ham but maybe worth risk

Dempsey – £9.3m.  quality.  Doesnt have fixtures with him and game time uncertain.  Has the ability to be fixture proof but stats need monitoring

FORWARDS

Tevez £9.9m – quality. form.  Game week showed him and Aguero still bext partnership.  I wouldnt buy but dont sell with fixtures coming up

RVP – £13.5m – QUALITY.  Rotation is the main risk

Jelavic – £8.4m – fixtures quality. NOW FIT

Berbatov – £7.3m  quality.  form.

Lambert – £6.2m  form. Fixtures.  value

Defoe – £7.7m –   Form.  quality I wouldn’t have seen him as a lone striker but showed real quality against Reading and QPR.  Adebayor injury and form will see him start.

Ba – £7.9m  form.  fixtures aren’t great but has shown real quality.  Has the ability to score against any opposition.  Just monitor the noise with the club to ensure no game time risk

Podolski. – £8.6m Form. quality.  I would wait until  Chelsea H are over but no doubting his form

Aguero – £11.0m.  QUALITY fixtures.  Role seems assured

I’m not putting a budget section for strikers.  I just think the position is too important and theres too much quality to put a filler in.  However Pogrebnyak at £4.9m is the best option if you really must.

Bubbling under

Suarez – £9.4m  if he could shoot he would be lethal.  Needs more monitoring and better fixtures

Lukaku – £6.5m Watch him to see if he can get starts.  He is some player.  Fixtures are good just needs a chance.  Started first game and showed worth. Need to see if starts again but maybe worth a punt for Villa A

KEY

quality – an elite player for his position

value – a player at a value that is less than the returns I expect

fixtures – a player facing good fixtures over the next 6 games

budget – filler at the minimum price the position allows. Should play

sleeping giant – a player with past form who may have had a quiet season last year but has the potential for far greater returns than his value

YC – card magnet

DGW – has 2 games in the specified game week

pre-season – has pre-season form

pens – should take penalties

short term – will only play for a few games

Form – current form
