Barclays fantasy premier league “ones to watch” game week 9

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s the GW9  fantasy premier league “ones to watch”.  This is a menu of fantasy premier league players to pick from for your team with factors stating why. (values as at Friday  26/10 AM)

If you’re not familiar with the format I’ve  put the removals from last week  in strikethrough to show you who has come off from last week.    The new fantasy premier league players and reasons why are added  in italics to make it easier to follow.

Ive added a new feature putting BUY HOLD or SELL next to players to clarify my position an all players except budget and bubbling under players.  It aso makes it easier for people wanting a quick look rather than going through the whole article.   Below each position if applicable is a “bubbling under”  category for monitoring certain fantasy premier league players before they are added to the “ones to watch” list.  Remember these are fantasy premier league players I would have in my team.   At the bottom is a key if you want a bit more detail on the factors listed

GOALKEEPER

Hart – £6.9m – quality fixtures HOLD

Ignore the mid week fiasco.  City are still statistically the best defence n the league in my view.  Fixtures are reasonable good and Hart is the cheapest secure option where the only other is Kompany

Ruddy £4.5m budget

Needs home and away rotation with another GK but fewer and fewer options in the budget section.

Jaaskelainen £4.9m budget

Fixtures moving away from him but same as Ruddy applies

Begovic £4.6m budget fixtures

The best of the cheap options.

McCarthy – £4.0m budget fixtures short term

If youre really just after someone cheap and will rely on save points then McCarthy is probably the best bet.  Federici back in training

Gazzaniga – £4.0m budget fixtures

lost his place

Mannone -£4.6m budget fixtures short term

Szczesny according to physio room wont be back until 3 November so time is running out.  Except weve heard it all before.

Guzan – £4.5m budget

Can anybody be first choice with Lambert in charge.   No defensive stats but if youre looking for a filler its another option

Bubbling under

DEFENCE

Rafael – £6.0m – value.  attack HOLD

The stats are improving and the fixtures aren’t that bad.  No reason to sell him yet and at least you get the attacking potential to mitigate the risk

Ivanovic – £7.2m  attack SELL

Fixtures are terrible.  Defence still has reasonable stats but in my mind its time to move in to other assets especially with Utd at the weekend.

Jagielka  – £6.1m fixtures. HOLD

If you’ve got the cash for Baines you’ll get the returnsThe defence hasnt performed but the fixtures are holding in the short term

Hangeland £5.0m – value fixtures sleeping giant. HOLD

Fulhams fixtures are only ok but the time to sell isn’t away to Reading

Jenkinson – £5.2m  value fixtures short term. HOLD

Sagnas fitness is stalking him

Gibbs – £5.8m fixtures SELL

Johnson – £6.4m. attack HOLD

Good attacking stats. Fixtures have well and truly turned but has such good attacking potential

Huth£5.5mfixtures attack BUY

Fixtures are good.    Has the attacking potential.  Wilson is the cheapest secure option at £4.5

Simpson £4.8m fixtures BUY

Fixtures are now with Newcastle  Defensive stats aren’t anything to write home about but have got the potential for clean sheets at home.  Simpson has little attacking potential but unless you’re willing to gamble on Williamson holding his place at £4.3m then hes the cheapest

Budget

Clyne £4.0m– Saints attack.  fixtures.

Fonte £4.0m– Saints fixtures

Gorkks – £3.9m  Reading.  fixtures

Nelsen – QPR £4.0m     A short term batch of good fixtures coming.  Seems to have held his place.  Has the potential to nick a goal.

Davies £4.0m– Seems to be holding his place as Swansea LB. Fixtures moving away from Swansea

Bubbling under

Wisdom – £4.5m budget

Enrique now fit and could end up in the team with Johnson  going to RB.  Monitor as great value for a Liverpool RB

MIDFIELD

Hazard – £10.3m pen quality HOLD

Poor fixtures.  I wouldn’t buy.  Underlying stats are nothing to write home about but I wouldn’t rush to sell at the moment as with Lamps not being in the team he has penalty duties.  Has the talent to be fixture proof is why i woldnt sell and the next couple of games will tell

Bale – £9.5m – Quality.HOLD

Fixtures go seriously against him once Saints and Wigan are out of the way.  Has shown the quality to ride out any fixtures though.  Not sure I would buy him due to the fixtures especially as he may not be the flat track bully that suits captaincy.

Pienaar –  £7.0m – fixtures.HOLD

Everton have a few good fixtures yet before I would sell him even with the ban.

Fellaini – £7.0m form.  fixtures. BUY HOLD

Played in an advanced position continually.  Top of the  underlying stats and maybe back this week.

Nolan – £6.5m  form HOLD

A hold until after the Wigan game this weekend then it goes horribly wrong fixture wise.    Bit dearer than I’d like but plays in such an advanced position you always think he will score.  Carroll  returning helps immeasurably. Don’t sell not sure I wouldn’t buy at this stage.

Cazorla – £9.5m  quality.  form.   BUY

Doing surprisingly well in the shooting stats although the final effort has been wayward but getting into these positions far more.   Fixtures ok.  Shoots far too much outside the box and a bit assist based but recent games have been encouraging encouraging.  This week will be a test of his captaincy potential

Lallana – £6.0m – fixtures form BUY

Good underlying stats.

Gervinho – £7.6m –   HOLD

Giroud in the team has pushed him out wide and the West Ham and Norwich game was not encouraging for this change of position.  Walcott out should mean he will start home to QPR but may he will lose his place after that.  Monitor to see how this all pans out but not a sell before a home game to QPR.

Dempsey – £9.2m.  quality BUY

Has Saints and Wigan in the next game and has the quality to be fixture proof as well as a captain option in the future.

Ben Arfa.   – £7.9m Quality.  form.  BUY

Fixtures start after the Sunderland game.  Im not wild on his shooting stats but has the ability to score for any range

Walters – £6.4m fixtures BUY

Plays in an advanced position and the best person to take advantage of his fixtures.

McAnuff – £5.1m fixtures buy

The only certain attacking starter in the Reading midfield.  An assist based player only but still the best option in the Reading midfield

Budget £4.5m ish

Schneiderlin – £4.5m  Saints

Sterling – £4.8m  Now seems like he will hold his place.

Kacaniklic – £4.7m SELL just seems to have lost his place.

Bubbling under

 Mata £9.1m form

I know bubbling under seems wrong for the form midfielder of the moment but the fixtures arent good.  MUN (H) SWA (A) LIV (H) WBA (A) MCY (H)  Same question as Hazard though.  Is he fixture proof.  The next few games will tell.

FORWARDS

Tevez £9.4m – quality. form fixtures. HOLD

Has been sold consistently in FPL but I would hold until after at least this GW.      I still believe him and Aguero are the best partnership.  I wouldnt buy but dont sell

RVP – £13.4m – QUALITY.  HOLD

Rotation is the only risk

Jelavic – £8.5m – fixtures quality form BUY

Lethal finisher, with surprising ability to create chances for others as well

Berbatov – £7.0m  quality.  form.HOLD

Good value and quality

Lambert – £6.3m  form. Fixtures.  value BUY

I wouldnt get ovrely worried about him being dropped.  Has too much quality to stay on the bench.

Defoe – £7.8m –   Form.  quality. value HOLD

Fixtures are against him but you cant argue with the price.   Don’t even think of selling him until Saints and Wigan game have gone

Ba – £8.3m  form. BUY

Fixtures getting better and has shown real quality.  Has the ability to score against any opposition.

Podolski. – £8.6m HOLD

I wouldn’t buy him now for Arsenals coverage, I would go for  Cazorla in midfield but  he wouldn’t be a priority sale until the QPR game has gone.

Aguero – £11.1m.  QUALITY  BUY

Fixture proof.  Role seems assured but doesn’t seem to need starts to get returns anyway.  .  Injury layoff should see him fresher and less rotatable.

Suarez – £9.7m fixtures HOLD

Top of the shooting stats despite the hard fixtures start.  Just the final shot that has been the difference between being world class.   Another return to infuriating form at  home to Reading he must score.

Giroud – £8.4m fixtures HOLD

Went to the bench for the champs league game after failing to score at Norwich.  Dont think of selling him until after the QPR game

Crouch £6.7m form value fixtures BUY

Fixtures now look good.

I’m not putting a budget section for strikers.  I just think the position is too important and theres too much quality to put a filler in.  However Pogrebnyak at £4.7m is the best option if you really must and now has good fixtures

Bubbling under

Lukaku – £6.4m

Did everything but score against City but fixtures have turned.  time to sell
