Introduction

With the vast bulk of the friendlies over we can now look with more certainty as to who will likely start for their teams in GW1. We have also been able to establish some form players although history has shown a fairly low correlation between friendly form and season proper form.

We’ve also been able to see the promoted teams and some of the new additions to the Premier League such as Haaland and Nunez in the Community Shield on Saturday. The Transfer window is open until the 1st of September (after GW5 opens) which does bring it’s own issues. That’s mitigated by effectively having 2 wildcard’s in the first half of the season.

The first will be useful maybe over the International Break after GW8 opens and then we have the World Cup after GW16 which comes with unlimited transfers before GW17.
