Introduction
It’s worth noting that the teams shown may not necessarily end up being the final teams or the transfers may have been made in the days prior to the posting . It’s an informal situation to give you an idea of trends.
However the FFGeek team, the Transfer Planner Team and the Contributor Vote team Plus the Contributor teams of Andy, Rob, Rick, Andrew, Pete, Javier and Joe mentioned above on the FFGeek Patreon site all make notified transfers live as they are completed. So you’re always up to date and live for a maximum £4 PCM with no annual commitment
The FFGeek 2nd draft
6 of last 10 seasons top 66k. 6 top 20ks. Best rank 2k
Here’s the current Draft

First of all Chip wise at the moment I’m going in with no pre plan and taking the “vibes”. the lack of a likely starting £4.0m GK and the fact that I’ve put one in my team totally rules that out for now and likely until I’ve wildcarded. Things obviously can change and I may restructure the team later before the GW1 deadline.
Main changes since the last draft:
Verbruggen OUT and Raya IN, Dalot OUT and Shaw IN, Jacquet OUT and Maguire IN, Garner OUT and Gross IN, Mbeumo OUT and Tavernier IN, Calvert-Lewin OUT and Solanke IN
I’ve decided to go double Arsenal defence by adding Raya as they are clearly the best defensive team. There will be a question of whether Mosquera diminishes the defence now that Saliba is out for sometime and the fixtures after Coventry could be better but I’ve run with it for now. I need to be sure Raya starts GW1 though
I’ve also gone for double Man Utd defence. They were the 3rd best for xG against last season after Arsenal and Man City. Man Utd have Hull and Ipswich first up which is too tempting not to have 3 Man Utd players in the squad. Having 2 defenders means alot less £ sacrifice elsewhere
I’ve effectively brought Gvardiol in and got rid of Jacquet due to starting doubts as he’s not played in preseason as he’s recovering from an injury
In midfield I’ve had to get rid of Garner due to his injury and I’ve bought in Gross who should have penalties for Brighton. Lastly Tavernier who also could have pens depending on Evanilson and Kluivert is in for Mbeumo as I’ve gone double defence
I’ve taken out Calvert-Lewin for Solanke as I’m hoping the Spurs team improvements make him a bargain
Here’s how it looks on Joe’s Planner over the 6 weeks. I’ve chucked in a few possible transfers along the way

Hi everyone. It’s a pleasure to be a Contributor here for Fantasy Football Geek.
I’ve done ok the last 3 seasons although I’m disappointed with my finish last season as I was 8k going into GW35
I follow the site quite closely and alot of my picks are dictated to by Geeks gameweek review articles where he rates players by their Underlying statistics for their FPL price
Last season I avoided Def Con players except for Garner who just seemed to good to be true and I will avoid them this season as well I expect especially . I have no Szoboszlai or Anderson in the team for example. I usually try and focus on just 3 gameweeks in front of me. I also like a strong bench so I can rotate for fixtures.
Defence wise I generally try and go with the best teams by xG conceded and go for value rather then premium or Def Cons
I also like to rotate players by fixtures so have a generally spread squad. I’ll be bench boosting GW2. I have no fixed plan to Wildcard and I may triple captain Haaland in GW3 v Coventry at home before he get’s bogged down in European competitions
Here’s my first draft team

Andy Jones
Andy Jones last 4 seasons overall ranks are 1k, 14k, 12k and 12k
Welcome to a new season.
I’m sure everyone has had time to do a Haaland-less draft, and said ‘you can have a a crazily good side if you leave him out’ and most (not all) have screwed it up and thrown it into the bin.
So what do we expect this year? Will City assets be more predictable or will Pep roulette be replaced with the Maresca Merry-go-round? Who will be the under priced player who over performs and who will be the over priced player who bombs or, to put it more simply, who are this years Cole Palmers?
Onto the team as it stands. This draft is based on my current plan of bench boosting in GW2 which I’ll come back to after going through the team. It is provisional for obvious reasons with lots of ‘ifs and buts’ and nothing will be locked in until after the Community Shield.
The Team
Here’s a bonus Andy no Bruno Fernandes team which he’s been thinking of. Don’t take it as a preferred draft. Just for interest
