GW review
An underwhelming Ro16 Matchday for me with only 77 pts and a rank doubling of sorts from OR 74th to 140th, but still happy with where I am especially without using any chip this round and not seeing much of a gain for those who used the CS Shield chip given most owned defences either didn’t concede or conceded > 1 goal to nullify the chip.
Honestly that could still be the case next round when I use it but there’s not much to lose anyway with 3 more rounds to go and 2 chips to play.
Quarter Final Preview
So moving onto the QF transfers, I have 5 players eliminated and Manzambi a doubt vs Argentina after missing out entirely vs Colombia.
There are a few different options I’m debating but at the moment here are the transfers I’m looking at
Quinones to Kane/Haaland
Vini Jr to Bellingham
Munoz to Digne
Barcola to Baena
Manzambi to De Keteleare (-3)
The last two transfers are subject to more news. I like Barcola but I sense he might be benched vs Morocco for Doue but we do get to see the lineups so will leave it till then. I would also wait for more news on Manzambi and if it looks like he won’t start vs Argentina or at least if there’s no concrete news on his fitness I will be inclined to sell for a hit.
Now, I do realize that I’m not transferring out all my eliminated players like Dest and Vargas and that’s due to 2 reasons:
1. I can’t afford to have both Kane/Haaland and Bellingham if I transfer out just the eliminated players.
2. The need to have a full 15 squad will be less going forward as we would have only 1 sub window in the semis and none in the final where we will need the strongest possible 11. So this is also a conscious effort to start investing more in the core team.
And as mentioned before, I’d be octaviating the CS Shield this round although not very optimistic given how it panned out last round for those who used it. Max captain is my other remaining chip which I plan to use in semis or in final.
