Round 1 Review
See my original Rd 1 article. My Rd 1 score was defined in injury time in the France v Senegal Match. France were up 2-1 and my gamble of not starting with Mbappe as I preferred Havertz over Musiala for my 3rd German player. Mbappe had only scored the 1 goal for 7 points or so and I also had Upamecano on 9 points with the clean sheet. Then Senegal scored wiping the clean sheet and Mbappe score his 2nd with a long range goal. The potential success of my round was gone then
Structurally not going for 3 of the most expensive forwards in Mbappe, Kane and Messi was also a negative.
Not all was bad. I had 7 returning players and the points are very squeezed giving a fairly distorted view of the overall rank.
Round 2
Firstly I’m going to do Kane as my 12th Man for his game v Ghana. He has better goalscoring odds than Messi who was my only other option
I had 2 players in Baena and Inacio who didn’t start which is a problem. I also had a planned transfer to get Mbappe in. That leaves me with 1 non playing player who dilutes the bench options which is a big disadvantage but so be it.
I will Wildcard in Rd 3 so my transfers are just for this week
However the goalscoring odds mean that instead of taking out Haaland I will be taking out Havertz. So the first transfer is
Havertz OUT and Mbappe IN
I have 2 options essentially I take out Baena or Inacio who didn’t start Rd 1.
I’m going to leave Baena in there and double up on the Ecuador defence (I have their GK) and who have really good clean sheet odds
2nd Transfer Inacio OUT and Hincapie IN
I’ve also gone for Kane as my 12th Man Booster
