Round 2 Review
A much better gameweek than Rd 1 with a move up from 294k OR to 134k. However it was at the cost of a wasted 12th man as Kane blasted over the bar with his only real decent chance. Meanwhile other options of Messi and Ronaldo accumulated double figure points. The defining pick of Raphinha over Vinicius also struck home negatively again with Vinny’s goal and assist and Raphinha’s injury.
Sticking with my captain choice of Hinchapie over Oyarzabal cost me 12 points which really hurt and would have repaired the damage of last weeks 89 points. In retrospect I should have max captained this gameweek knowing I play the captain too conservatively.
On the plus side keeping Haaland paid off and it was a full suite of returns on the defensive side. In the end only Diaz and Baena of the players who ended up as starters didn’t return.
Round 3 – Wildcard activated
This has always been my ideal time to play the wildcard as teams that have gone through could potentially rotate and the fixture strengths change.
Teams that will be looking to win with good opposition are
Bosnia v Qatar, Morroco v Haiti, Brazil v Scotland, Ivory Coast v Curacao, Netherlands v Tunisia, Belgium v NZ, England v Panama,
Argentina play Jordan and it would take something dramatic for them not to go through. Spain play Uruguay which could be an easier fixture. France v Norway fight it out for their group winners tag.
Senegal can’t qualify but play Iraq
My team concentrates on those with the best odds to win and something to play for. However there are big decisions to be made on the premiums
