DAILY TELEGRAPH FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE SITE AIMING TO OPEN ON WEDNESDAY 11 JULY 2012

On the Daily Telegraph fantasy premier league website today

“To celebrate 20 years of Telegraph Fantasy Football, your first team for the 2012/13 season will be on us – completely free of charge. The game will be better than ever with more ways to win, real-time score updates and a new mobile website”.

New features mentioned for the fantasy premier league site

“Fairer Manager of the Week awards: maximum five transfers per team per week

Separate Weekend Tinkerman League – unlimited transfers, £250 to be won each week

Register, make transfers, live scoring and much more… all on a new mobile-friendly version of the website”

I have to confess to not having done the site before but I will be tackling it this year due to requests from followers.  I have had success in the fantasy premier league limited transfer version of sites before, finishing 100 out of 100,000 users on ESPN fantasy soccer.

  1. Hello this site is a minter so far. I would reccomend it to my friends but I don’t want to give them an advantage in the upcomming work FF league. We use the Telegraph system and I have just entered a preliminary team online. Our work one is slightly different as we only allow 20 subs all season. Can you give me any tips/definite buys for this set up.

    So far I have:

    De gea

    Pearce
K Walker (to be replaced with Vertonghen)
    Zabaleta

    VDV
    Segesson
    Marin
    Kagawa

    Aguero
    Bent
    Giroud

Of course this all depends on preseason.

    • thanks for the comments on the site. I’ve only just got on to the telegraph site so I haven’t had a chance to look at values etc as yet. I generally don’t try and do a team to far closer, too much changes.

Heres my initial comments in brackets next to your team. sorry I cant add alternatives at this stage. need to look at the site and values more

De gea (I would probably go for Joe Hart. I think City will have the best defence again this year)

Pearce (with the no subs and negative points for goals rule I would shy away from cheap defenders look for value higher up closer to beginning of the season)
K Walker (to be replaced with Vertonghen) – easy start both are quality with goal potential
Zabaleta ( doubts over game time when Richards comes back is the draw back here)

      VDV (total quality easy start)
Segesson (not a fan I think he over performs. I would need better base stats when the season opens to look at him. Not an easy start either.
Marin (A Chelsea player is essential to start with just not sure over his game time)
Kagawa (I would probably wait until position and game time is established

Aguero (a must at the moment for me – pure quality)
Bent (good call, easy schedule to start with and proven goal scorer in the past. Lambert has a very attacking ethos so goals will come)
Giroud ( needs RVP to leave. I think Arsenals start is too tricky for me to look at him)

      hope that helps

      Cheers

  2. Cheers, I’ll run my final team past you after preseason, which of course will be totally different. I’m considering Ireland as he is really cheap but I can’t decide if Villa will be rubbish again. I may stick with Pearce as I’m gambling that Reading’s defensive record will continue in the Prem like Birmingham a couple of seasons ago. Fingers crossed Richards gets a smack in the Olympic’s.
