The basics

3 new fixtures have been added to GW21

Southampton v Brentford

Everton v Leicester

West Ham v Norwich

So 3 of the above teams have 2 games

Brentford – Villa H and Southampton A

Everton – Brighton H, Leicester H

West Ham – Palace A and Norwich H

It’s worth noting that Newcastle have no fixture in DGW21

There is also a reasonable change of GW22 becoming a double although that maybe diluted by the need to move Covid FA Cup postponements to that newly created no replays gap.

Player suggestions

Brentford

£6.6m Toney (Points Per Match 3.6) is the main attacker and penalty taker

£4.5m Pinnock would be my defender of choice

Brentford have a further game to be rearranged vs Man Utd at home which could mean a double of Liverpool away and Man Utd at home if it was put in there

Fixtures after 21 and 22 are definitely mixed as well.

West Ham

£6.6m Mid Bowen (PPM 4.9) is the best pick here followed by £7.8m forward Antonio (PPM 4.7). Defence I’d probably go with £4.7m Coufal (PPM 2.0) . You might get 2 games out of £4.0m Johnson but difficult to say given the alternate options some of which are injured

Norwich is West Ham’s only postponed game so they would only have Leeds at home in GW22. That’s a good fixture as well as those after though is the consolation. Fixtures after 21 and 22 are good.

Everton

Attack wise £7.9m Calvert-Lewin (7.7 PPM) is defintely the best option it’s just how fit he is after not playing since GW3

Other than that it’s slim pickings. In defence I would go for £4.9m Keane (PPM 3.2).

Everton also have postponements against Newcastle and Burnley. As Burnley have 4 games postponed if this was the fixture for a potential DGW22 it means Everton would have Norwich and Burnley away which would be an exceptional DGW. Fixtures after 21 and 22 are good.

A few words of caution

Things can change very quickly and leaving transfers to the last minute if you can is the best option. Maybe pick a vice from the first games up in the gameweek and be careful of over loading on 1 particular team

There is a load of variance, randomness and just plain luck involved but remember it will even itself out eventually so stay calm and patient
