facebook premier league fantasy – “ones to watch” – game week 4

Player Rankings

Ive decided to roll out the “ones to watch” to all the formats so heres the first  facebook  premier league fantasy “ones to watch” for GW4.  This is a menu of players to pick from for your team with factors stating why in an abbreviated form.

Remember facebook premier league fantasy is very different to the rest of the formats.  Theres 2 transfers per week so you can be far more short term than other formats plus values fluctuate wildly and money is tight so value is everything. thats the reason for the focus on budgets.   The key with budget choices here is game time so you have a playing reserve or cheap rotation player to maximise the rest of your squad.  Thats what Ive focused on in the budget choices

Below each position if applicable is a “bubbling under”  category for monitoring certain players before they are added to the “ones to watch” list.  Remember these are facebook  premier league fantasy players I would have in my team.   so there is also alot of emphasis on the budget element.  to be successful you need captain options and budget and value players.  At the bottom is a key if you want a bit more detail on the factors listed

GOALKEEPER

Howard £11.0m – fixtures.   form.  strong defence and fantastic fixtures short and long term

Foster£10.1m – fixtures.  form.  good shot stopper equals save points plus defence seems undervalued

Budget  (make sure you check home and away rotation if you’re not going for an elite keeper

Jaaskelainen £8.1m – fixtures.  form. value.

Federici – £8.0m – budget

Davis £8.1m – budget

Begovic £7.0m – Bubbling under budget

Guzan £6.1m – budget – the only one in this price who might play thanks to Lamberts continual rotation

Bubbling under

DeGea – £11.7m  value.  Query over whether he will get his place back.  He will get clean sheets and save points.  just need to monitor whether he will start.

DEFENCE

Rafael – £10.4m attack. CS.  Some game time risk but shouldn’t be until game week 7 unless Evans or Valencia plays there

Ivanovic – £8.3m  attack value

Mcauley – £8.2m attack value fixtures

Gibbs £8.2m – value. CS

Baines. £10.0m – attack. fixtures.  CS

Budget

Fox – Saints£6.0m

Reid – West Ham attack.  £6.3m

Bertrand  – £6.0m.  loads of game time risk but has playing prospects and a Chelsea player at this price maybe worth the gamble

Fabio – £6.0m

Jenkinson – £6.6m short term (GW7)

MIDFIELD

Hazard – £17.6m –  Quality. form.

Kagawa – £11.2m – Quality.  value

Michu – £11.6m – form.

Pienaar – £8.1m – form.  fixtures.  value

Fellaini – £9.5m  form.  fixtures. value.  advanced position needs monitoring

Nolan – £8.2m   fixtures.  form.

Cazorla – £15.6m quality.  form.  2 difficult fixtures after saints at home only draw back.

Budget

Guthrie – Reading – £7.0m

de Guzman – Swansea – £6.0m

Schneirderlin – Southampton – £6.0m

Cleverly – Man U – £6.0m  some game time and coming on as sub risk

Diaby – £6.3m – form

Sterling – £6.6m  Liverpool.   A risk with Assaidi getting to fitness and Joe Cole  coming back but form but with form shown maybe worth it

Bubbling under

Nasri – £13.6m needs game time monitoring

FORWARDS

Tevez £13.6m – quality. form.value

RVP – £23.0m – QUALITY. form.  The captain system means value is irrelevant for the double points

Jelavic – £13.8m – fixtures quality

 Lambert  – £9.3m – value

Carrol – £10.1m – value

Bent – £11.9m – value

Torres – £12.4m – value

budget

lambert at £9.3m s the cheapest guaranteed starter.  Personally I would not be scrimping in this area but if you want to invest in this area without buying lambert, heres a few gambles.

Weiman – not going to play every week by any stretch but as i said above you need to go to lambert at £9.3m to find someone who is.

Lukaku – again game time no where near guaranteed and hasn’t started yet but hes some player even from the bench

Rodallega – again has started as a sub but has the potential

KEY

quality – an elite player for his position

value – a player at a value that is less than the returns I expect

fixtures – a player facing good fixtures over the next 6 games

budget – filler at the minimum price the position allows. Should play

sleeping giant – a player with past form who may have had a quiet season last year but has the potential for far greater returns than his value

YC – card magnet

DGW – has 2 games in the specified game week

pre-season – has pre-season form

pens – should take penalties

short term – will only play for a few games

Form – current form

CS – clean sheet

hope that stimulates some thought for your facebook  premier league fantasy team.  Heres the link to the latest  fixtures ease article if you want to look at that again
