Matchday 29 Review – 178 points; Gameweek Rank 1,444
Another strong finish for me in MD29. A score of 178, which got me into the top 5K match day rank for the fourth consecutive time. This week’s rank being my highest so far at 1444. Fantasy is mostly luck but that still felt good. Especially when in the first match of Saturday, I was already without my newest transfer in forward in Cunha, who is out with a concussion.
So most have probably noticed by now that the majority of their team will be playing at the same time in the early Saturday kickoff. The issue being specifically in mid-field. Most of this issue comes from the need to have Bayern/RB assets and the fact that the best value assets are Baumgartner and Karaman. I mentioned this in the last two articles, so hopefully you have been able to plan around it a little. Sancho would be the perfect premium to target for this week, if you don’t already have him.
Due to the fact that I do already have Sancho. I need to tidy up some other issues. Two being my cheapest players at their positions not playing in Cunha (9.2M FWD) and Schubert (1M GK).
The other thought is that I would really like to get Hakimi in my squad as he is a pleasure to watch, has great fixtures, plays at off-times to help with Star options, but is super expensive. I need to decide if I should make my third sub Karaman, who plays tough fixtures and has a not-helpful game time or to ditch Trimmel to get Hakimi. I am going to play with both and see what I can do.
Here is where I landed in each scenario:
Hakimi in opinion (Hakimi gives me two elite star option on defense. Something my squad is lacking with only having the one in Pavard):
Trimmel 🔄 Hakimi
Schubert 🔄 Luthe
Cunha 🔄 Beier (likely doesn’t play but is a wonderkid and does get some minutes)
Karaman out option (if Benes starts, we will see before first kick off and I would go with this options first):
Karaman 🔄 Benes
Schubert 🔄 Luthe
Cunha 🔄 Niederlechner
