OK So FPL has almost completely taken over my fantasy football brain capacity but I do have some quick takes on the upcoming FBL Match Day 31.

All of the games start at the same time starting in MD 33.

So There are only two weeks to plan for in terms of Star strategy, and then I would imagine the best move is to deplete your bench value and increase your starting 11 value. We will also get to see the starting lineup for every match, which seems a bit daft but having money itb isn’t a bad strategy perhaps going into that match day.

The transfer tinkering will be fun.

The following needs to be considered for MD31:

Lewandowski money can be used to upgrade to a premium elsewhere potentially. Even though it may weaken another position, in two weeks it won’t matter.
Zirkzee will play this week as striker. He is pretty much a must. If you are concerned with being stuck with him, again it shouldn’t matter in two weeks, as he can be your bench fodder.
We get to see the lineup this week for RBL this week, which is a treat, as they are the Man City of the Bundesliga in terms of rotation potential.

If Haaland is fit, which I think he will be, he is in for Lewandowski.

My thoughts:

Lewandowski out, Zirkzee in are the two musts. Followed by probably upgrading Beier, as he isn’t going to play and was just used to help me get Hakimi last week (a slam dunk by the way. Hakimi is essential and my plan worked out well).

It depends on the RBL lineups and Haaland fitness but likely here is where I am at:

Lewandowski 🔄 Haaland

Karaman 🔄 Zirkzee

Beier 🔄 Weghorst

 First up here’s Rob’s points:

A pretty average week without many huge scores, but a few fairly solid ones. Hakimi and Werner both returned decent Star Player scores again and Framberger gave my score a nice boost in the final game of the Matchday with a late assist. The scores from my Bayern players were a bit disappointing, despite them scoring 4 times and Lewandowski’s booking leaves him suspended for MD31 which could work both ways depending on how you look at it.

My Bundesliga write-ups will be a bit shorter for the next 4 weeks now as like Kev, with FPL restarting I’ll be putting most of my Fantasy hours back into this. I’m keen to finish the Bundesliga season well though and I’m fairly settled on playing the game again next season for a bit of fun. I like the format and it’s been nice reconnecting with German football again after having not watched it for a few seasons.

For this week, the main decision hinges on whether I keep Lewandowski and bench him or whether to sell and use the funds. With rotation being what it is, in all honesty I don’t see any point in leaving 25 million Euros tied up on the bench, so I’ll sell this week and probably look to buy him back or buy Muller (who is also suspended this week) in MD32. For this week, I also want to try and spread my options across the kick-off times again, so I’ll likely bring in Hazard again or I’ll being back Haaland if he is fit for the Polish striker. I’m also looking to bring in someone from Bayer Leverkusen for Sunday – this will probably be Havertz (again fitness permitting) but I’m also looking at Volland with Thuram the likely player to make way here.

So I’ve not finalised my moves yet, I’ll be doing this on Friday evening once the evening team news comes in for the Leipzig game and I’ll go from there. I’ll post on Twitter with my final line-up. For my Star Players, again I’ll start with Leipzig on Friday then distribute across the weekend probably focusing on Dortmund on Saturday afternoon, any remaining Bayern assets in the 530 Saturday game and then using the Leverkusen game on Sunday evening as my final back-up option.

Good luck this week folks.
