fantasy football geek team performance GW2 – All formats

As I  said in my first GW1 article I think its important to front up and show the performance of the various fantasy football geek teams in the various fomats good or bad. Im confident having finished 4880 last year and 5936 the year before that in barclays fantasy premier league over the year I can repeat these good finishes but its a game of patience and holding your nerve when all you really want to do is take 8 point hits every week.

Its not been a great start and the Rooney transfer in GW2 didnt work out and has effected the scores.  So here’s the second  of the weekly round ups of performance of our various teams in the various formats.  Ill be reporting on a Fantasy Football Geek league basis and an overall basis.   Ill also try and say where our league is if that information is available

Summary

So a pretty ordinary start overall made worse by the Rooney transfer.  Good performances in the telegraph only at the moment  and a very bad performance in Sky thanks to my adoption of the passing bonus as the paramount factor.

Heres moving forward to GW3!

  1. 91 points this time, 161 in total.
Have a big question mark before GW3. With some injuries, non playing Stevens, I have these options:
    1) Play 5-3-2 with non playing Stevens at the back
    2) Play 4-4-2 with transfering out Robson Kanu and bring in another cheap mid – and hit -4
    3) Play 4-4-2 with transfering out Robson Kanu and bring in Fellaini – and hit -4
    4) Play 4-4-2 with transfering out Robson Kanu and bring in mid with an easy game in GW3 (Tottenham? Swansea? Newcastle?) – and hit -4.

Options 3 and 4 look better than 2, but having 5 full priced mids isn’t a good budget choice.
    Your opinions?
    Currently have 3.5M in bank.

    • Nice week. I struggled to 64 for the week, 153 in total. GK and 3 defenders managed 3 points between the four of them!

I’m no expert but my choice would be either 3 or 4. Everton away to West Brom though is no easy game for fellaini, could struggle to make up the cost of the -4 point hit. Dyer of swansea wouldnt be bad and still means you wouldnt have 5 full priced midfielders?

    • I wouldnt assume stevens wont play Clark will be suspended and after getting such a mauling against everton lambert may “refresh the backline as he calls it.if you want a cheap mid kacaniklic of Fulham is away to wEst ham and looks fairly certain of selection although overall I rate guthrie as the best filler as Kaca may lose his place when Frei returns which could be as early as this week. the other 2 point only safe \34.5m is britton

i would take the chance to replace RK as his game time looks limited with a filler or noble at £5.0m
