fantasy football premier league 2014/15 – Preseason games review start here

Preseason

Here’s the first of our pre-season reviews.  We’ll be looking at how the teams will line up and the form players.  We’ll be posting every few days and will start today with Stevenage v West Ham,  Dundee v Man City and WBA v Bury.  A little early at the moment to get anything too meaningful but here goes anyway.

fantasy football premier league 2014/15 – Preseason games review start here

Stevenage 2 West Ham 2

Goals: Jarvis, Downing

Lineups:

West Ham United first-half XI: Adrian, O’Brien, Cresswell, Reid, Chambers, Noble, Poyet, Vaz Te, Nolan, Morrison, McCallum
West Ham United second-half XI: Jaaskelainen, Demel, Collins, Tomkins, Potts, Kouyate, Whitehead, Downing, Diame, Jarvis, E.Lee
Subs: Howes, Burke, Cullen, Fanimo, Gordon

A fairly meaningless game as far as lineups were concerned as 2 mixed teams played a half each.  New signings Poyet, Creswell and Kouyate all got some gametime.  Zarate didn’t make it though.  There was also the disturbing lack of Andy Carroll. Apparently not quite ready? Not a good sign and maybe he had too much recuperation time for his own good.  No Cole either so little up front apart from Vaz Te.  Adrian had a bit of a nightmare apparently.

The LB position will be interesting  as will the formation and striker lineup.  Especially with Enner Valencia about to sign and Zarate in the picture.  How Nolan fits in will also be of interest

Need a lot more to get any line up clues as yet

Dundee 2 Man City 0

Lineups:

Manchester City: Caballero, Bossaerts (Richards 46), Kolarov (Leigh 46), Denayer (Rekik 46), Boyata (Nastasic 46), Navas (Garcia 46), Fernando (Zuculini 46), Rodwell (Nasri 46), Huws, Jovetic (Negredo 46), Guidetti (Sinclair 46)

A game of no relevance.  This was no surprise as there wasn’t a single World Cup player in sight.  Again another lineup of 2 halves with only new keeper Caballero and young Welsh CDM Huws playing the 90.  The other CDM and new signing Fernando apparently played well.  Overall it was a game that Boyata and Caballero to a lesser extent will want to forget due to errors.

Unless YYT leaves Fernando will compete with Fernandinho for the CDM spot.  Caballero will be there to keep Joe Hart honest

WBA 2 Bury 0

Goals:  Dorrans and Berahino

Lineups:

WBA FIRST-HALF XI: Myhill, Atkinson, Dawson, Olsson, Garmston, Yacob, Gardner, O’Neil, Sessegnon, Anichebe, A Nabi.
WBA SECOND-HALF XI: L Daniels, Baird, D Daniels, Lescott, Garmston (Smart 70), Thorne, Mulumbu, Dorrans, O’Sullivan, Berahino, Roofe.

Another game of 2 halves which doesn’t help any line up predictions.  New signings Gardner, Lescott and Baird got some gametime.  Baird could play RB as Jones and Reid  have left.  New signing Pocognoli didn’t make the game but looks a good bet for LB with Ridgewell gone.  Lescott will probably start at CB with Olsson I expect.  Gardner will have to compete with a number of players for the midfield spot.  No Foster after the World Cup by the way

Little information on the match unfortunately

Thats it, the preseason games will get more useful!
