Introduction
This article consists of a schedule ranking midfielders based on their underlying stats over the first 6 games of the season. xG90 and xA90 are converted to FPL attacking points adjusted by their average minutes played.
There’s also their FPL points per match as well as their value for money rating. The higher the better. Above 10 is the gold standard
The rankings are purely mathematical and there is no adjustment for fixtures coming up. The attacking players fixture ease schedule is below
Their is a new stat based on the performances in each individual gameweek where they are rated good orbad in relation to their cost. The column “x Consist %” states the % of times in relation to their starts they were rated good in the first 6 gameweeks. Prices are as of 29 September.
The ranking schedule
As I said above the rankings are based on their xG90 and xA90 converted to FPL attacking points adjusted by their average minutes played. There is no adjustment for fixtures upcoming
As it’s only 6 games data the rankings will be pretty volatile. For example Elyounoussi is in there on the basis of 1 good performance in 4 distorting his ranking positively
Transfer suggestions for GW7
Here I’m going to look for players that have a good entry point fixture as well as a good overall fixture ranking in the upcoming 6 gameweeks plus represent overall value for money and consistency of performances
There are very few options this week which tick all the boxes unfortunately.
Raphinha
At the moment is an injury doubt so needs monitoring
Leeds have an exceptionally good run of fixtures and if their midfield talisman is fit he’s the natural choice and has 3 goals in his 6 starts this season.
It’s worth noting that Klich has also been in good form and has a goal and assist in 4 starts this season. The risk with him is that he’s currently churning out underlying stats way ahead of what he put out last season which naturally questions their sustainability .
Saka
A potentially tricky fixture next at Brighton although Palace after that and then Watford in GW11. It’s a goal and 2 assists in his 5 starts all coming in the last 2 fixtures
Benrahma
The West Ham midfielder has 3 goals and 2 assists in his 6 starts and has returned a goal or assist in 3 of those 6 matches. He tailed off after an initial good start but against Leeds returned to form despite blanking with an excellent 5 shot 3 key pass game.
Despite their excellent defensive start Brentford surely have to be a good entry point until proven otherwise over a longer period. After that the fixtures are a little mixed
The question is whether with the mixed fixtures after Brentford you would want to carry him if you have Antonio in your team
Mbeumo
The Brentford FPL mid has been the model of consistency playing as Toney’s strike partner in terms of underlying performance if not returns which have just seen the 1 goal scored and the xG would certainly say there’s more to come
West Ham have been a fairly stuttering defence conceding 8 goals in their first 6 games. After that’s it’s Chelsea and it’s GW10 when the really good fixtures kick in with Norwich and Newcastle.
