A miserable 36 points. The only consolation is I was at a tournament on Sunday and was too late to check the Spurs United lineup and switch to Kane (which would have been 2 points and a wasted transfer). I originally planned to keep Lukaku until this weekend as part of a 3-1 over Kane but if I had seen he wasn’t starting then I’d have got Kane back then (although perhaps Rashford should have been considered).

I also resisted the Jesus transfer. I wasn’t sure if he’d start next weekend but he probably would start in the cup if not so in hindsight was a good opportunity. I wanted a City defender too but it’d have been Laporte who probably won’t play in the cup so the additional games over Liverpool are more limited. High City coverage elsewhere meant I fell back a fair bit in the ranks by 7.5k.

The plan now is to hope for a sub appearance from Lukaku this weekend and a switch to Aubameyang. He has a tougher FA cup game after this weekend so is more likely to play. It will then be planning around FA cup games and the blank for city and Chelsea/Spurs when the league cup final takes place. Will be plenty of opportunities to get additional fixtures so hopefully some gains to be made.

It was a week where I wasn’t expecting too much so was pleasantly surprised to make some ranking gains. Salah captain delivered (albeit via a penalty) The United duo helped and I had a pleasant 9 points from Fabianski when I debated getting rid of him. The downside is I swapped Digne for TAA who in addition to getting injured, only got 6 points to Digne’s 12. I wasn’t keen on removing Digne but I felt Alonso had been clean sheet prospects and I wanted Liverpool defensive coverage.

Richarlison blanked again but with his fixtures and overall performances I think he is worth being patient with for now. Similarly for Alonso who still looked dangerous throughout the match. With 2 big injuries and 2 transfers I will have to focus on them. I feel quite good about this as I’ve seen a lot of people needing hits to resolve this issue and even a lot of early transfers for TAA.

TAA will become Robertson (written before TAA’s miracle recovery) and Kane will become Aubameyang. Saturday aside, Aubameyang’s stats have been good. I considered taking a -4 and switching to 5 in midfield and bringing in Sterling but I just feel a -4 isn’t worth it despite 2 tough fixtures in 3 for the Arsenal man. After those 3 his fixtures are good and will be a good captaincy option in blank GW27 when Man City won’t have an FPL fixture.

A pretty miserable week here too with only 38 points and around a 20k ranking drop. The Kane injury gives me the opportunity to improve my keeper so transfers this week are Kane>Rashford who looks ridiculous value now and Hart to either Ederson or Allison. I will save my final monthly transfer
