fantasy premier league – “ones to watch” cheapie midfielders – GW21

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s the 2nd part of my fantasy premier league “ones to watch” for midfielders looking at those under £6.0m.  I’ve tried to rank them on gametime security, form and fixtures but there’s enough information there I hope for you to judge how to slot them into your fantasy premier league team

1.  Whittingham (£5.3m)

The top fantasy premier league point scoring midfielder under £6.0m.  Has free kicks and pens for Cardiff.  Played every minute of every game so far although OGS may have other ideas.  Hasn’t returned in 3 but did in 2 consecutive games before that.  Hard to pick when will return so a difficult rotation choice but a solid bench player if you have the cash

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

West Ham (H)
Man City (A)
Man Utd (A)
Norwich (H)
Swansea (A)
Aston Villa (H)

2.  Januazaj (£5.1m)

Getting better and better and more integral to the United side.  Has started 5 of the last 6 fantasy premier league fixtures.  With a goal and 2 assists to show for it.  A good pick in a rotation as will be rested by Moyes.

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Swansea (H)
Chelsea (A)
Cardiff City (H)
Stoke City (A)
Fulham (H)
Arsenal (A)

3.  Mutch (£4.6m)  injury doubt

The 3rd highest scoring midfielder under £6.0m in fantasy premier league despite not starting a game until GW8.  2 goals and an assist in his last 4 is pretty impressive.  Is an injury doubt though for GW21 and 2 hard fixtures after that.

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

West Ham (H)
Man City (A)
Man Utd (A)
Norwich (H)
Swansea (A)
Aston Villa (H)

4.  Sterling (£5.3m)

3 goals and 2 assists in the 8 games since coming into the side.  May struggle to hold his place if Rodgers goes 3-5-2 to accommodate Sturridge and may even struggle in a 4-4-2 to keep his place. Big upside though as does have alot of scoring potential though as the stats show if you’re willing to take that risk

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Stoke City (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Everton (H)
West Brom (A)
Arsenal (H)
Fulham (A)

5.  Barkley (£5.3m)

The CAM for a top 4 challenging team seems a no brainer for your side.  However the returns just don’t match that expectation.  Its 1 goal since GW7 believe it or not.  I personally cant believe given his position and the creating chances and shooting opportunities he should get.  The stats are very damning though

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Norwich (H)
West Brom (A)
Liverpool (A)
Aston Villa (H)
Tottenham (A)
Crystal Palace (H)

6.  Shelvy (£5.4m)

The advanced attacking fulcrum for the Swansea team at the moment.  There’s alot of rotation in the Swansea team due to the Europa League but Shelvy has started the last 8.  A goal and 2 assists in those 8 isn’t disastrous but hasn’t returned in the last 5 is a little worrying

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Man Utd (A)
Tottenham (H)
Fulham (H)
West Ham (A)
Cardiff City (H)
Stoke City (A)

7.  Gnabry (£4.2m)

A real short term punt for your wildcard.  Would have to be part of a rotation as alot of game time uncertainty.  Only made 3 starts although returned in 2 of those.  Could play on the right instead of Walcott but as you’ve seen has only 3 times this season.  Did start in the FA Cup on the right very effectively.  In theory though Wilshere or Rosicky could potentially fill the role and Ramsey did and could when he returns.  Risky but has alot of upside

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Aston Villa (A)
Fulham (H)
Southampton (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Liverpool (A)
Man Utd (H)

8.  Redmond (£4.6m)

No returns now in his last 5 although has started 9 consecutive games.  Norwich have some good fixtures though

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Everton (A)
Hull City (H)
Newcastle (H)
Cardiff City (A)
Man City (H)
West Ham (A)

9.  Puncheon (£4.9m)

Back in the team with Pulis and seems to have pen duties plus and advanced position in midfield.  Only 2 returns in those 8 games though so a leap of faith on the form shown.

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Tottenham (A)
Stoke City (H)
Hull City (H)
Arsenal (A)
West Brom (H)
Everton (A)
