fantasy premier league – “ones to watch” cheapie midfielders – GW27 (updated for GW28/29)

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s the 2nd part of my fantasy premier league “ones to watch” for midfielders looking at those under £6.0m.  I’ve tried to rank them on gametime security, form and fixtures but there’s enough information there I hope for you to judge how to slot them into your fantasy premier league team.  Updated now to take into account the fixture changes for gameweek 28/29

fantasy premier league – “ones to watch” cheapie midfielders – GW27

1.  Snodgrass (£5.9m)

A goal and an assist and 2 returning games in his last 5.  A fixture in the side who has good set piece representation.  Has excellent underlying stats and that combined with good fixtures after the Spurs game should see his returns improve. No blanks in GW28/29

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Tottenham (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Stoke City (H)
Southampton (A)
Sunderland (H)
Swansea (A)

2.  Sterling (£5.6m)

Despite looking lethal everytime he plays its still only the 2 goals at Arsenal to show in his last 5 games.  Nailed on spot now though having started the last 14.   Great value for such an advanced player in a free goal scoring Liverpool side. Mixed fixtures but that really doesn’t matter for this Liverpool side.  Blank in GW29

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Swansea (H)
Southampton (A)
gameweek 29
Man Utd (A)
Cardiff City (A)
Tottenham (H)

3.  Steven Davis (£4.7m)

1 goal and an assist and 2 returning games in the last 5.  Started the last 13.  Has a good share of set pieces.  Reasonable fixtures and no blanks in GW28/29

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

West Ham (A)
Liverpool (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Norwich (H)
Tottenham (A)
Newcastle (H)

4.  Adam (£5.8m)

2 goals and 2 assists in 2 returning games in his last 5.  Seems to have finally nailed down his spot having started the last 7.  A forward thinking player who has a good share of set pieces and possibly even pens given Walters inconsistency on the spot.  Reasonable fixtures after the next 2. No blanks in GW28/29

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Man City (A)
Arsenal (H)
Norwich (A)
West Ham (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Hull City (H)

5. Puncheon (£5.0m)

2 goals and 2 returns in his last 5.  Seems to be secure gametime having started the last 13 and survived the initial cut of the new transfers although was subbed for Murray.  Very forward thinking player and shoots on sight.  Seems to have lost pens as Chamakh too the pen against WBA while Puncheon was still on the field.  Tricky fixtures although have the Postponed game at Everton as an extra game.  No blanks either.

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Man Utd (H)
Swansea (A)
Southampton (H)
Sunderland (A)
Newcastle (A)
Chelsea (H)

6.  Tom Ince (£5.5m)

Started the first game getting a goal and an assist.  Was also named in the team at Everton before the game was called off.  Played behind the striker so the ideal position for a fantasy premier league midfielder.  Still early days to see if he can hold that position and his position in the team so comes with some risk.  However, 25 goals and 20 assists in 67 games in the Championship for Blackpool is some record for a midfielder.    Tricky fixtures but no blanks in GW28/29  although have the postponed game at Everton as an extra game

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Man Utd (H)
Swansea (A)
Southampton (H)
Sunderland (A)
Newcastle (A)
Chelsea (H)

7.  Zaha (£5.4m)

1 assist in his first 3 games since going on loan to Palace.  A sub or subbed in all 3 games.  This maybe due to him needing to build up match fitness but with a lot of competition in the midfield and a manager who is running out of time to avoid relegation it’s too early to say he’s nailed on yet.  Has undoubted talent but in my mind yet to show he will be a fantasy premier league returner.  This is based on talent and fixtures (which although a little mixed to have some that provide good returning potential) not proven returns or form.  No blanks in GW28/29

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Hull City (H)
Tottenham (A)
Fulham (H)
Everton (A)
Liverpool (H)
West Brom (A)

8.  Nathan Dyer (£5.1m)

2 goals and 1 assist and 2 returning games.  Back after injury and started the last 3 games.  Good shooting stats and a very attack mined player even if mainly plays on the flank.  No game in GW29.  Fixtures ok on the whole although blank in GW28/29

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Liverpool (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
– Gameweek 29 –
West Brom (H)
Everton (A)
Norwich (H)
