Fantasy premier league – “ones to watch” midfielders over £6.0m– GW28

Fantasy Premier League, Player Rankings

Here’s the GW28 “ones to watch” for midfielders on the Barclays fantasy premier league over £6.0m.    This will give the best midfield players at a variety of price ranges using a range of stats to make my case.  I’ll do cheapie midfielders separately.

Fantasy premier league – “ones to watch” midfielders over £6.0m – GW28

If you haven’t seen this before, I’ve provided the following stats to support the player choices and to guide you in your decisions.

1.  Goals and assists this year.

2.  Time per point scored this year.  This is how many minutes it takes for a Barclays fantasy premier league point to be scored over the course of this season. The lower the better obviously.

3.  Rotation risk.  High, medium or low.  High is the greatest risk of rotation.

4.  Fixture ease ranking:  The link is at the bottom of the article but essentially I’ve ranked all the teams by the ease of the first 6 fixtures.  The team with the best ranking ie 1 will have the easiest next fixtures of any of the fantasy premier league teams over the next 6 games.

5.  Consistency:  The % of times that the player got a goal or assist  as a % of games played

6.  I’ve also ranked them in their categories as who I think is currently the best choice

7.  Last 5 return consistency rate:   Its now time to take into account recent form so I look at the amount of times a player has returned in the last 5 games played

8.  I’ve also add a couple of  punts from time to time.  These are people not showing great form or consistency  who you may want to roll the dice with

9.  Ive also added how many players are in the top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow

Midfielders

1.  Hazard (£11.0m)

  • Goals and assists:  12 goals 8 assists.  Time per point scored:   13.6  mins .  Rotation risk: low.   fixture ease ranking: 3rd.  Consistency 12/26   46%  Last 5 return consistency:  1/5   How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow:  10

Only 1 return in the last 6 but that was the hat trick against Newcastle.   He can score big at anytime but has gone 4 games without a return once and 3 games without a return once.  At the moment the underlying stats are holding up and he looks dangerous in every game so to me the returns will come again.  Good fixture next away to Fulham.  Chelsea out of the FA Cup will help Mourinho resist rotation.  No blanks in GW28/29 but no DGW on the horizon either

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Fulham (A)
Tottenham (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Arsenal (H)

The attacking creative force in the Southampton team.  In great form and becoming more and more consistent.  Had 2 early spells of 4 games and 5 games without returns but since then has returned in 7 of 10 games. No blanks in GW28/29 but no DGWs on the horizon
Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Liverpool (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Norwich (H)
Tottenham (A)
Newcastle (H)
Man City (A)

3.  Gerrard (£9.1m)

  • Goals and assists:  7 goals 10 assists.  Time per point scored:  15.4  mins .  Rotation risk: low  fixture ease ranking: 13th.  Consistency 14/23  61%          Last 5 consistency return rate:  3/5   How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 1

Mr consistency who continues to return despite his CDM role.  Set pieces and pens continue to see rewards from his delivery.  If you strip out his first 5 games then his consistency rating is 78%.  It was a genuine shock he missed out on returning against Swansea.   Blank in GW29 and DGW 31

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Southampton (A)
– Gameweek 29 –
Man Utd (A)
Cardiff City (A)
Tottenham (H)

4.  Nolan (£7.0m)

  • Goals and assists:  7 goals 7 assists.  Time per point scored:   16.6 .  Rotation risk: low  fixture ease ranking: 8th.  Consistency 7/20  35%          Last 5 consistency return rate:  3/5   How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 2

Has a real knack of getting into the box.  A pretty streaky scorer and has twice gone 3 games without return and 4 once.   Now in great form though with 5 goals and an assist in the 5 games since his return from suspension.  Returns generally come against the easier opponents.  He has maybe 3 potential prospects in the next 6

Blanks in GW29 but has a DGW31

With Lukaku back will stick to the right flank.  Incredibly frustrating but looking dangerous and does have very good shooting and creating chances stats.  Blank in GW29 but does have 2 unconfirmed DGWs at home to Palace and away to Newcastle

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

West Ham (H)
– Gameweek 29 –
Cardiff City (H)
Swansea (H)
Fulham (A)
Arsenal (H)

6.  Mata (£9.7m)

  • Goals and assists:  0 goals 5 assists.  Time per point scored:  22.4  mins .  Rotation risk: low  fixture ease ranking: 9th.  Consistency 5/18  28%          Last 5 consistency return rate:  3/5   How many times in top 10 fantasy premier league managers I follow: 8

Looks like he will play on the left and drift in much like Silva for City.  Has the potential given last year and his targets for assists in RVP and Rooney.  Impact and potentially scoring chances are lower than expected at this stage though especially given reasonably good opposition.

Blank in GW28 but DGW31.  Can therefore be left on the bench for GW28 and  play in GW29 and take the benefit of a DGW31.  Lack of games played this season and other competitions gives him a good chance of playing all 3 games.

Next 6 fantasy premier league fixtures:

Gameweek 28
West Brom (A)
Liverpool (H)
West Ham (A) GW31
Man City (H) GW31
Aston Villa (H)
Newcastle (A)
