Fantasy premier league 2015/16 – analysing 10 top FPL managers part 2

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s the 2nd part of our top 10 FPL managers article.  The 2nd part is all in italics so you don’t have to read the whole article again.  If you were feeling a bit down after your start then seeing how these managers also struggled in GW1 may make you feel better.  In part 2 we’ve basically added on the scores of the 10 managers.  I also got a couple of the midfield numbers in the teams slightly wrong so I’ve fixed that.

Here’s the first part of our regular article where we analyse the teams of 10 top FPL managers.  These are just the current top 10 but 10 managers that have been successful over the last 3 years.  At the moment the 10 aren’t the final 10 I would like to have but the best I can come up with at the moment and their stats over the last 3 years are none the less very impressive.  The 10 managers have only finished out side the top 10k 5 times in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing FPL).  The article is all about giving you a view point other than mine and giving you some comfort if they have selected or not a player you may have.

I normally do this article after the gameweek finishes but I thought everyone who comes to the site would be curious about the make up of the managers teams.  It therefore doesn’t include the normal break down of points and rank that I would do after the gameweek finishes.  However I will update the article after the gameweek finishes.

Firstly I’ll remind you of their stats and then I’ll break down how their teams are structured and then I’ll give you a team to summarise what they’ve done

If you’ve had a bad round this should make you feel better.  After last nights games the highest score was 29 and the lowest 16 so also a slow start from them.

Firstly their stats.

Top 10 FPL managers stats

1.  The overall average finishing position of the 10 managers over the last 3 years has been 5,636

2.  The top 10 FPL managers have only been outside of the top 10k 5 times in the last 3 years (ie 30 times playing)

3.  5 of the 10 FPL managers have finished in the top 1,000 in the last 3 years

4   2 of the 10 FPL managers have finished in the top 100 in the last 3 years

GW1 average score and rank

The average score of the managers in GW1 was 30 compared to the average of 34.  Thats 4 points and 12% below the average.  Scoring below the average only happened a few times last season.  The high score was 42.  The low score was 23.  Quite a high spread although all but 3 of the scores were between 27 and 30.

The average rank is 1,792,166 of the top 10 managers.  The highest rank is 523,597 and the lowest 2,535,436.

If you’re interested my score was 38 mainly thanks to Joe Gomez and my rank 848,360.
