fantasy premier league – the early bandwagons and sinking ships for GW20

various

Here’s my view of the fantasy premier league bandwagons and sinking ships for GW20 up coming.  If your’e not familiar these are the 5  most transferred in and the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek.  Remember rotation will play a part over these games so think carefully with transfers

The fantasy premier league bandwagons

Walcott

Way more transfers in than anyone else.  Ive already done it if you saw my post from last night.  4 goals and an assist in the 4 games since he’s come back.  He’s also home to Cardiff next which is a pretty juicy fixture.  He’s the natural replacement for the injured Ramsey and Ozil if you want to keep some Arsenal coverage.  He’s had quite an injury layoff and a slow return that you think he would be rotation proof.   Also if you read my analysing 10 top fantasy premier league managers article you would see he’s starting to be bought and 5 now own him.   A definite BUY for me

Hazard

I find him quite frustrating because he’s either brilliant or anonymous.  Yesterday he was definitely brilliant.  Its now goals in 2 consecutive games and 3 returns in his last 5.  Seems fairly rotation proof as well.  Despite the abundance of attacking midfielders he’s started every fantasy premier league fixture apart from 1.  If you’re using your transfer immediately before using  your January wildcard I’m not sure he’s the transfer I would do given the next games are away to Southampton and Hull.  These are 2 of the trickier fixtures away from home.  Walcott home to Cardiff seems a better fixture.  Longer term though, if that’s what you’re thinking he’s a BUY

Cabaye

Playing in that advanced role in front of Anita and Tiote does suit him.  You get far more creating chances and shooting potential than you do in 4-4-2.  Remains to be seen if that’s how Pardew plays though.  He’s got set pieces and should have pens in the normal course as well.  Away to WBA and then Man City at home isn’t the easiest of fixtures coming.  It’s now 3 goals and 2 assists in his last 5 games.  He’s definitely one of the better  non cheapie buys outside the top 4 challengers though.  He’s a buy for me it’s just whether I would do it now

Mertesacker

Really showed their defensive mettle yesterday.  Kept the ball well on the whole which minimised Newcastles chances until the last 10 minutes.  With Everton I rate them as the best defensive team home and away.  Good fixture next in Cardiff at home.  Only 2 clean sheets in their last 5 but have only conceded more than 1 twice.  BUY

Coleman

3 goals in his last 4 games.  Best attacking defensive player in the best defence with Arsenal.  No clean sheets in 5 but this should turn around.

Ramsey

This may depend on your sale price vs buying price perception.  Nothing from the club that I have seen as to the extent of the injury. Some suggestions have been a month although these are speculative.  The delay in news could be interpreted as a bad thing.  Been sold by the bucket load and will see a drop in price.  I’ve sold him and many of the fantasy premier league managers in my top 10 article had sold him last week.  For me its a sell but as I said that may depend on your selling price.  You may want to wait for something official as he does have  nearly 2 weeks after Jan 1 before the next fantasy premier league fixture.  Walcott is a good like for like transfer with some funding assistance

Ozil

Out for 2 or 3 games according to Wenger.  Looking jaded recently although it’s only 2 games without returns after 3 consecutive games with.  Hardly a crisis.  Personally though I think Walcott is a better option than Ozil anyway so I would make the swap.  Interestingly starting to be sold by a number of the fantasy premier league managers in my Analysing top 10 managers article.  I would SELL

Jagielka

Looks to be out for a month with a hamstring injury.  A definite SELL.  Alcaraz at £4.3m is a great cheapie option if you don’t mind a bit of short termism.

Silva

Suspended for GW20.  If you’re using your January Wildcard right away and aren’t taking a hit on price then I can understand selling.  However I personally think until Aguero is back he’s the City coverage of choice.  A goal and 3 assists in the 4 games since back from injury and returning in 3/4 is excellent stuff.  A hold for me unless you do it in those circumstances above

Rooney

Having messed us fantasy premier league managers no end with RVP now Moyes has started on Rooney.  Absolutely no idea he wasn’t playing until it was announced he wasn’t on the bus.  Absolutely ridiculous.  What’s he trying to keep secret?  His teams having been playing in the 1 style for 11 years, its hardly a secret.  If you believe anything that comes out of Moyes mouth then apparently he’s back for the Spurs game.  I believe nothing until I see the team sheet.  Rooney for me is a long term hold.  Even more so with RVP out and Rooney having set piece domination and pens.  HOLD.
