fantasy premier League – the early GW22 bandwagons and sinking ships

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s my view of the fantasy premier league bandwagons and sinking ships for GW22 up coming.  If your’e not familiar these are the 5  most transferred in and the 5 most transferred out players so far in the gameweek.

The Bandwagons

Sturridge

Not a bad haul, an assist and a goal in 25 minutes.  The partnership with Suarez certainly didn’t look like it had suffered at all for the break.  This is a guy who has a fantasy premier league point every 11.7 minutes and has 10 goals and 3 assists in 13 games.  He’s returned  in 10 of those 13 games.  Thats an excellent 77% consistency.  Personally I don’t see him as an alternative to Suzrez.  Suzrez is a must have.  His stats are probably better than anyone else apart from Suarez and Aguero.  Its just a question of whether you want to double up on Liverpool.  Personally I wouldn’t but I certainly wouldn’t be chastising anyone who did.

Lallana

A goal in the WBA home game sees him on a hot streak of return in 4 of his last 5 games.  That could signal a blank patch as he does seem to go in fits and starts.  If you’ve got the patience then he’s a good buy but its a bit of a roller coaster.  The good side is that he plays in an advanced position and is integral to the teams play.  The bad side is that he produces no underlying shooting and creating chances stats.

Negredo

Personally I haven’t been that impressed with him.  I don’t think his finishing was that good and he was very lucky to score yesterday.  I would wait and spend the extra money on Aguero who could be back this week.  Obviously Cardiff at home is a juicy fixture and a purchase is tempting though if you some how have no City coverage.  Aguero is definitely worth the extra money though.

Januzaj

Seems to be getting better and better and more integral to the United side.  The Swansea game was no exception.  Although he didn’t return he was integral to both goals and had an excellent match.  This is leading to him being rotated less and less.  He’s now started 6 of the last 7 and has a goal and 2 assists to show for it.  A buy for me.  Whether I would do so when the next game is away to Chelsea (unless as part of a Jan Wildcard) is another question

Hazard

A must have for me.  Returned in 4 of his last 5.  The top fantasy premier league points scorer.   In the Mourinho world of attacking midfield rotation he’s still started every game except 1 in fantasy premier league

The Sinking Ships

Barkley

Looks like he could be out for a month.  Despite looking impressive and playing in the CAM position its only 1 return since gameweek 6.  Price will plummet in January Wildcard season so it’s a sell for me

Rooney

Supposedly back this week although it’s difficult to believe anything that comes out of the United camp at the moment.  Has that issue along with then positional issue and lack of shooting stats.  On the plus side he is dominating set pieces and has pens.  He’s also been amazingly consistent.  Personally I would sell the risks out wiegh the good side and the price for me

Lukaku

Did get an assist although home to Norwich you would expect more.  A goal and an assist in his last 5 good fixtures (Sturridge did that in 25 minutes!) has tested people’s patience and his playing style can make him look quiet.  I though he was unlucky against Norwich and I’m a big fan but I wouldn’t blame anyone for selling (having done so myself)

Yaya Toure

I favour Silva over YYT anyway but just because he was subbed off with an injury doesn’t mean you should sell straight away.  All Pellegrini has said is that he has a problem with his back.  He’ll probably be rested for the midweek Blackburn replay and could be ready for Cardiff at home. I would show some patience and wait for further news

Ramsey

Why would you hold him for sol long and then sell him the week before he’s back which is a home game for Fulham.  He may not be match fit and only a sub but still it’s a home game to Fulham.  Hold
