Top 10 FPL own/team:  How many of the top FPL managers I follow who own the player and the team

Bertrand – Southampton

Southampton, apart from maybe the resurgemt 2 consecutive clean sheet Chelsea, are the best performing defensive team at the moment.  The choice is between Clyne and Bertrand from an attacking perspective and maybe Alderweireld at £5.0m from a value perspective.  Good fixtures and Southampton are  good home and away.

Next 6 home fixtures:

Hull (A)

Aston Villa (A)
Man City (H)

Wilson – Stoke

The cheap person in the Stoke defence.  Stoke have performed pretty well home and away defensively and Wilson is good value.  Not much attacking potential though.   Swansea and Neil Taylor could be a home and away rotation partner.  4 good home fixtures to come.  Stoke have shown an abilty to defend away with the win at Man City although the away fixtures aren’t easy.

Next 6 home fixtures:

Swansea (H)
West Ham (H)
Burnley (H)
Arsenal (H)
Chelsea (H)
West Brom (H)

Next 6 overall fixtures:

Swansea (H)
Southampton (A)
West Ham (H)
Spurs (A)
Burnley (H)
Liverpool (A)

Dawson – WBA

I’ve chosen Dawson over Wisdom as Gamboa impressed when £4.1m Wisdom was ineligible for the Liverpool game.  I’ve gone for Dawson over £4.4m Pocognoli for his attacking ability even though Pocognoli is probably the more secure.  However Dawson has played every minute of every round  but he has competition from McAuley and Olsson for his place.

Some good defensive results for WBA including the 1-0 win at Spurs and the 0-0  at Southampton in between some poor ones including the 3-0 loss at Swansea.  4 good home fixtures out of the next 6.  WBA have also shown the ability to defend away with their 2 clean sheets away.  WBA will rotate home and away with Hutton of Aston Villa

Next 6 home fixtures:

Man Utd (H)
Crystal Palace (H)
Newcastle (H)
Arsenal (H)
West Ham (H)
Aston Villa (H)

Next 6 overall fixtures:

Crystal Palace (H)
Leicester (A)
Newcastle (H)
Chelsea (A)
Arsenal (H)

Duff – Burnley

One of the few cheapies who started at £4.0m.  The Burnley defence has performed well in the main and Duff is definitely the value option.  However the 4-0 loss to WBA really showed some problems especially at set pieces.  This was followed by the 2-2 draw at Leicester.  In the main good home fixtures coming up.  Would rotate home and away with Robertson of Hull

Next 6 home fixtures:

West Ham (H)
Everton (H)
Hull (H)
Aston Villa (H)
Newcastle (H)
Southampton (H)

Next 6 overall fixtures:

West Ham (H)
Everton (H)
Arsenal (A)
Hull (H)
Stoke (A)
Aston Villa (H)

Van Aanholt – Sunderland

An excellent attacking LB with good creating chances and shooting stats even though it’s only 1 assist so far from the  Chelsea loanee.  O’Shea is probably the other option where you’re relying on a CB bonus point advantage.  Difficult home fixtures coming up although Sunderland have shown the ability to defend home and away.  Would rotate home and away with Newcastle although thats not really much of an advantage given their defensive ability at the moment

Next 6 home fixtures:

Arsenal (H)
Everton (H)
Chelsea (H)
Man City (H)
West Ham (H)
Hull (H)

Next 6 overall fixtures:

Southampton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Everton (H)
Leicester (A)
Chelsea (H)

Kelly – Crystal Palace

The Liverpool loanee is the value option in the Palace defence.  3 of the next 6 home games have good clean sheet potential which is where they have looked the most solid.  QPR or West Ham provide home and away rotation.  Kelly has some attacking potential although we’ve only seen the 1 assist so far.

Next 6 home fixtures:

Aston Villa (H)
Stoke (H)
