Just to clarify this was written before Mondays game of Arsenal v Leicester.

We’ve also added good fixture clumps at the end for you to be aware of before transfers in and out.

An introduction

My intention at the moment is to take the fixture difficulty ranking from the Official FPL site with some slight adjustments. That schedule doesn’t differentiate between attack and defence and is an overall ranking. You will see their fixture difficulty when you look at a player in detail on the FPL site.

The schedule below uses the official rankings to rank them from easiest at the top to hardest at the bottom. The order of the teams is for GW10-15. The figure in the right hand column is the ranking from from GW10-12

So here I give attacking and defensive player suggestions for players with good 6 week and 3 week fixtures. This week it’s Leicester, Huddersfield, Newcastle, Chelsea and Liverpool

Leicester

This was written before the Monday night game of Arsenal v Leicester

Just Vardy and Maddison for me in attack at the moment

£9.0m Fwd Vardy has scored 3 goals in 1 assists in 5 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 of 5.9.  His numbers are negatively distorted by a sending off as well.

£7.0m Mid Maddison has scored 3 goals in 2 assists in 8 starts at a PP90 of 5.9.  He’s averaged about 80 minutes per game.  He does have reasonable set piece representation as well.  His underlying stats could be better.

Defensively it’s tricky.  £5.5m Maguire is the premium attacking option but that’s some price for the Leicester defence.  Chilwell is the safe bet at £5.0m with some attacking potential.  Pereira at £5.1m is an RB who has played fairly regularly at RM but has been benched for 1 of the games.

West Ham (H)
Cardiff (A)
Burnley (H)
Brighton (A)
Watford (H)
Fulham (A)

Huddersfield

From an attacking perspective there’s no one for me.  Huddersfield have scored the least goals and have the lowest xG of any team in the league.

In defence I would either go for cheap option of £4.3m Schindler or a slightly better attacking option of Lowe at £4.4m

Watford (A)
Fulham (H)
West Ham (H)
Wolves (A)
Brighton (H)
Bournemouth (A)

Chelsea

In attack I would probably look at Hazard and Willian.  The striker situation needs some clarifying yet.

£11.4m Mid Hazard has got 7 goals and 3 assists in 7 starts plus 2 as sub at a PP90 of 10.1.  He is an early injury doubt for GW10 so that needs monitoring.  Played 90 minutes in 6 of his 7 starts.  He has the rare midfield bonus of penalty duties.

£7.4m Mid Willian has got 1 goal and 3 assists in 7 starts plus 2 as sub at a PP90 of 6.1.  Has some set piece responsibility but only averages 72 minutes when starting and has been benched twice.

In defence there’s the premium attacking option of Alonso at £7.om or the less attacking but seemingly secure option of £5.5m David Luiz

Burnley (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Everton (H)
Spurs (A)
Fulham (H)
Wolves (A)

Newcastle

Just Kenedy and Matt Ritchie at a stretch for Newcastle

£5.9m Mid Ritchie has got just the 1 assist in 8 starts at a PP90 of 2.6. He has at least played 90 minutes in the last 2 games whereas before that he was regularly subbed in the 60’s and 70’s.  He does have some set piece representation but it’s a sign of the lack of options at Newcastle.

£4.9m Mid Kenedy has got just the 1 goal and no assists in 9 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 of 3.0.

£4.5m defender Yedlin is my defensive choice.

Southampton (A)
Watford (H)
Bournemouth (H)
Burnley (A)
West Ham (H)
Everton (A)

Liverpool

With Liverpool the front 3 are the obvious target (although Mane is currently injured).  However, I suspect you will have to live with rotation and early substitutions from time to time as we saw on the weekend

£12.8m Mid Salah has scored 4 goals in 2 assists in 8 starts at a PP90 of 5.9. Despite scoring the only goal of the game v Huddersfield he is still without a bonus point this season.  He does have excellent underlying stats and Cardiff next

£9.3m Fwd Firmino has scored 2 goals and 2 assists in 8 starts at a PP90 of 4.7 plus 1 as sub. Blanked in the last 3 starts and returns are pretty ordinary as are the underlying stats. It’s all about the fixtures.

Defensively the safe choice for Liverpool is probably £6.4m Robertson or £5.9m Van Dijk until the 2 places for 3 players of Lovren, Gomez and Alexander Arnold is tested over the next couple of games.

Cardiff (H)
Arsenal (A)
Fulham (H)
Watford (A)
Everton (H)
Burnley (A)

Think about Mitrovic and Schurrle.  No one in defence
