We’ve also added good fixture clumps at the end for you to be aware of before transfers in and out. There’s also another relatively new feature. Hunting out the not so fabulous 4 now downgraded to the not so terrific 3.

An introduction

My intention at the moment is to take the fixture difficulty ranking from the Official FPL site with some slight adjustments. That schedule doesn’t differentiate between attack and defence and is an overall ranking. You will see their fixture difficulty when you look at a player in detail on the FPL site.

The schedule below uses the official rankings to rank them from easiest at the top to hardest at the bottom. The order of the teams is for GW13-18. The figure in the right hand column is the ranking from from GW13-15

So here I give attacking and defensive player suggestions for players with good 6 week and 3 week fixtures. This week it’s Newcastle Brighton, Huddersfield, Wolves and Man Utd.

Newcastle

2 potential attacking players here in Rondon and Kenedy here for me

£5.7m Fwd Rondon has scored 2 goal and 1 assist in 4 starts plus 4 as sub at a PP90 of 5.3m.  You have to remember that GW12 were his first goals of the season and while his stats look good as a snapshot now, history doesn’t show him as prolific and his last 2 seasons have seen PP90’s in the 3’s.

£4.9m Mid Kenedy has scored 1 goal and 1 assists in 10 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 of 3.4.  He finally produced some decent stats at the weekend when he got his assist.  Last season he showed he can produce a PP90 of around 4.5 and decent underlying stats.  With his price he can be benched when needed at a only slightly higher cost than a £4.5m CDM.

Defensively I’d go for £4.5m Yedlin.  He’s got a goal and assist so far this season and has the best underlying attacking stats of any Newcastle defender.

Burnley (A)
West Ham (H)
Everton (A)
Wolves (H)
Huddersfield (A)
Fulham (H)

Brighton

So with Knockaert out of favour (although an injury to Jahanbakhsh may get him back) and Gross still not back from injury the only option for me is Glenn Murray.

£6.6m Fwd Murray has scored 6 goals and 0 assists in 10 starts plus 2 as sub at a PP90 of 5.1.  He isn’t assured of penalties long term but should have them while Gross is out and possibly beyond.  Underlying stats without penalties are poor and shot volumes are also terrible.

Defensively I’d go for Dunk at £4.4m or Duffy at £4.7m.  They both have similar underlying attacking stats.  You’d think that Dunk has maybe done his bit with 2 goals in 2 games.

Leicester (H)
Huddersfield (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Burnley (A)
Chelsea (H)
Bournemouth (A)

Huddersfield

I still don’t think there is anyone attack wise.

Defensively they have improved in recent weeks and are now 12th in xG conceded which is a testament to recent performances.  I would keep with CB £4.3m Schindler

Wolves (A)
Brighton (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Arsenal (A)
Newcastle (H)
Southampton (H)

Wolves

Only Jimenez for me here attack wise

£5.8m Fwd Jimenez has scored 3 goals and 5 assists in 12 starts plus 0 as sub at a PP90 of 5.2.  His underlying stats are good both shooting and assist based as well as his shot volumes.  His main negative is his history of lack of finishing ability.  He’s behind his expected goals this season and last for A Madrid

No doubt about the defender for me.  £4.9m Doherty isn’t that far off Alonso in terms of underlying attacking stats

Huddersfield (H)
Cardiff (A)
Chelsea (H)
Newcastle (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Liverpool (H)

Man Utd

Only Martial for me unless you want to play penalty and long shot roulette with Pogba.

£7.6m Mid Martial has scored 6 goals and 1 assist in 7 starts plus 2 as sub at an incredible PP90 of 8.5.  Amazingly he’s scored those 6 goals and 1 assist in his last 5 returning in every game and bringing in 11 bonus points along the way.  When on the pitch he has been fantastic this season and last, returns and underlying stats wise.  That’s except for his start this season but that has been turned around.   He’s also plays in his favoured left sided forward position.  Is an injury doubt which needs monitoring.

Defensively United are a mess but if you think this is going to change then I would go for £5.0m Shaw

Crystal Palace (H)
Southampton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Fulham (H)
Liverpool (A)
Cardiff (A)

Hunting down the not so terrific 3

I’ve taken Huddersfield off that for the moment given the improvement.  It’s now Cardiff, Fulham and Burnley who seem to be the worst defensive teams

Lets first look at who they are playing in GW13 and attacking suggestions:

Cardiff – Everton (A)  Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Walcott

Burnley – Newcastle (A) – Kenedy, Rondon

Now which teams play them the most in the next 6:

Man Utd (2)
