We’ve also added good fixture clumps at the end for you to be aware of before transfers in and out. There’s also another relatively new feature. Hunting out the not so fabulous 4 now downgraded to the not so terrific 3.

An introduction

My intention at the moment is to take the fixture difficulty ranking from the Official FPL site with some slight adjustments. That schedule doesn’t differentiate between attack and defence and is an overall ranking. You will see their fixture difficulty when you look at a player in detail on the FPL site.

The schedule below uses the official rankings to rank them from easiest at the top to hardest at the bottom. The order of the teams is for GW14-19. The figure in the right hand column is the ranking from from GW14-16

So here I give attacking and defensive player suggestions for players with good 6 week and 3 week fixtures. This week it’s West Ham, Newcastle, Brighton, Man Utd and Wolves

West Ham

2 potential attacking players here in Arnautovic and Felipe Anderson here for me

£7.1m Fwd Arnautovic has scored 5 goals and 2 assists in 11 starts at a PP90 of 5.4.  He’s been good with bonus collecting 9 and played 90 minutes in the last 5.  He has got ongoing niggling injury issues and is a doubt for GW14 so needs monitoring.

£6.9m Mid Felipe Anderson has scored 4 goals and 1 assist in 13 starts at a PP90 of 4.6.  He’s been fairly inconsistent with it only returning in 4 of 13 games which is a lowly 31% although it is 3 goals in the last 3 games.

Defensively I would go with £4.4m Balbuena or £4.5m GK Fabianski

Newcastle (A)
Cardiff (H)
Crystal Palace (H)
Fulham (A)
Watford (H)
Southampton (A)

Newcastle

Note this was written before the Monday night game v Burnley

2 potential players in attacking positions here in Rondon and Kenedy here for me

£5.7m Fwd Rondon has scored 2 goals and 1 assist in 4 starts plus 4 as sub at a PP90 of 5.3m. GW12 were his first goals of the season and while his stats look good as a now, he does have a prolific history.  His last 2 seasons have seen PP90’s in the 3’s.

£4.9m Mid Kenedy has scored 1 goal and 1 assist in 10 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 of 3.4.   Last season he showed he can produce a PP90 of around 4.5 and with pretty good underlying stats. His price doesn’t make him a benching option for poor fixtures.

Defensively for me it’s £4.5m Yedlin. He’s has the best underlying attacking stats of any Newcastle defender and returns wise has a goal and assist so far this season

West Ham (H)
Everton (A)
Wolves (H)
Huddersfield (A)
Fulham (H)
Liverpool (A)

Brighton

3 potential options here for me in attack.  The safest 2 are Murray and Gross.  There’s also the gametime risk option of Knockaert.

£6.7m Fwd Murray has scored 7 goals and 0 assists in 11 starts plus 2 as sub at a PP90 of 5.4. With Gross back the penalty question is unresolved.  His underlying stats without penalties and shot numbers are terrible

£6.7m Mid Gross has scored 1 goals and 0 assists in 4 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 of 3.9.  He should dominate set pieces and play as a CAM.

£5.5m Mid Knockaert has scored 1 goals and 4 assists in 10 starts plus 2 as sub at a PP90 of 4.0.  The big question is whether he can hold his place when Jahanbakhsh is fit as he lost it to him and Izquierdo.  He’s come back to start the last 2 but whether he can hold his place is the risk.

Defensively I’d go for Dunk at £4.5m or Duffy at £4.7m. They both have similar underlying attacking stats but watching them Duffy seems the main set piece threat.

Huddersfield (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Burnley (A)
Chelsea (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Arsenal (H)

Man Utd

I’m only suggesting Martial at the moment.  I’m not sure what is going on with Lukaku and Lingard seems doomed to less than 60 minutes per start at the moment.

£7.6m Mid Martial has scored 6 goals and 1 assist in 8 starts plus 2 as sub at a PP90 of 7.8.  He seems to have secured his place as an LW but there is decent competition for his place should his performances slip.

Defensively I’d go for last weeks suspended £5.0m Luke Shaw

Southampton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Fulham (H)
Liverpool (A)
Cardiff (A)
Huddersfield (H)

Wolves

From an attacking point of view just striker Jimenez for me

£5.9m Fwd Jimenez has scored 3 goals and 5 assists in 13 starts at a PP90 of 4.9.  His ability to assist has seen him post returns in 7 of those 13 games.

Cardiff (A)
Chelsea (H)
Newcastle (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Liverpool (H)
Fulham (A)

Some good short term future fixture clumps

Spurs

GW15 Southampton (H)
GW16 Leicester (A)
GW17 Burnley (H)

Think about Kane, Alli and Eriksen and maybe Son depending on gametime. Trippier as a defender if fit.

Arsenal

GW16 Huddersfield (H)
GW17 Southampton (A)
GW18 Burnley (H)

Think about Lacazette and Aubameyang.  Bellerin in defence.

Chelsea

GW17 Brighton (A)
GW18 Leicester (H)
GW19 Watford (A)
GW20 Crystal Palace (A)
GW21 Southampton (H)
GW22 Newcastle (H)

Think about Hazard, Morata and Alonso as a defender

Man Utd

GW18 Cardiff (A)
GW19 Huddersfield (H)
GW20 Bournemouth (H)
GW21 Newcastle (A)

Think about Martial and Shaw as a defender
