We’ve also added good fixture clumps at the end for you to be aware of before transfers in and out.

An introduction

My intention at the moment is to take the fixture difficulty ranking from the Official FPL site with some slight adjustments. That schedule doesn’t differentiate between attack and defence and is an overall ranking. You will see their fixture difficulty when you look at a player in detail on the FPL site.

The schedule below uses the official rankings to rank them from easiest at the top to hardest at the bottom. The order of the teams is for GW20-25. The figure in the right hand column is the ranking from from GW20-22

The schedule

Player suggestions

here I give attacking and defensive player suggestions for players with good 6 week and 3 week fixtures. This week it’s Burnley, Chelsea and Watford

Burnley

Unfortunately no one from an attacking or defensive standpoint for me here.  They have just been terrible.

West Ham (H)
Huddersfield (A)
Fulham (H)
Watford (A)
Man Utd (A)
Southampton (H)

Chelsea

From an attacking point of view only Eden Hazard for me

£11.0m Mid Hazard has scored 10 goals and 9 assist in 15 starts plus 3 as sub at a very impressive PP90 of 8.5. He’s also playing as a false 9/striker and has penalty duties.  His returns are backed up by excellent underlying stats.  It’s also worth noting that only Aubameyang in the game has more bonus points

Crystal Palace (A)
Southampton (H)
Newcastle (H)
Arsenal (A)
Bournemouth (A)
Huddersfield (H).

Defensively it’s either the attacking potential and expense of £6.9m Alonso who has a PP90 of 5.5 or the value of £5.8m Luiz who has a PP90 of 4.4

Watford

2 attacking players here for me.

The obvious one is Pereyra.  The punt is Deulofeu

£6.2m Mid Pereyra has scored 6 goals and 4 assists in 19 starts plus 0 as sub at an ok PP90 of 5.2.  He has been pretty inconsistent though returning a goal or assist in 7/19 matches which is 37%.  He’s also twice gone 5 games without returning.  However when he does return he can return big.  3 of his 7 returning games have seen him get double figure FPL hauls and for that reason he’s miles above any Watford player in bonus points.

The punt is £5.4m Mid Deulofeu.   He’s scored 3 goals and 2 assists in 9 starts plus 3 as sub at a pretty good PP90 of 5.7 for the price.  He has started the last 3 and played 80 minutes or more in those games after poor minutes and sub appearances prior to that.  His underlying stats are excellent although they are far ahead of anything he’s done before, even at Barca.  That could be because he’s playing effectively as a forward or he could just be over performing. For that reason and his gametime especially, given the time of year, he does come with some risk.

Defensively I would go for the sometimes set piece man and attacking £4.7m LB Holebas or £4.2m Femenia if you’re looking for value.

Newcastle (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Crystal Palace (A)
Burnley (H)
Spurs (A)
Brighton (A)

Some good short term future fixture clumps upcoming

Spurs

GW21 Cardiff (A)
GW22 Man Utd (H)
GW23 Fulham (A)
GW24 Watford (H)
GW25 Newcastle (H)
GW26 Leicester (H)
GW27 Burnley (A)

Think about Kane, Son and Alli (if fit).  Defensively is trickier to pick.  Needs GW20 to assess.

Liverpool

GW22 Brighton (A)
GW23 Crystal Palace (H)
GW24 Leicester (H)
GW25 West Ham (A)
GW26 Bournemouth (H)
GW27 Man Utd (A)
GW28 Watford (H)
GW29 Everton (A)
GW30 Burnley (H)
GW31 Fulham (A)

Think about Salah, Mane and Firmino

Man Utd

GW23  Brighton (H)
GW24  Burnley (H)
GW25  Leicester (A)
GW26  Fulham (A)

Just Leicester in an otherwise good clump of 4

Arsenal

GW24  Cardiff (H)
GW25  Man City (A)
GW26  Huddersfield (A)
GW27  Southampton (H)
GW28  Bournemouth (H)

Obviously Man City spoils the run but Cardiff before may make it worth it.  Only Aubameyang in attack until selection gets more predictable.  Defence needs monitoring but Kolasinac for the moment.

Southampton

GW24  Crystal Palace (H)
GW25  Burnley (A)
GW26  Cardiff (H)
GW27  Arsenal (A)
GW28  Fulham (H)

Just Arsenal in a good run of 5.  Think about Ings in attack.  Cedric when fit in defence.

  1. Last week I made the biggest mistake since you accidentally used your free hit last season.
Normally I do everything on my PC but being away for Christmas I had to use my tablet, after making my transfers I benched Ings and Femenia in favour of Pogba and Was Bissaka, only problem was I didn’t save the change so unless Ings gets a hatrick I take a 20 odd point hit and get knocked out he cup (unless Ings gets a hit) 🙁
