We’ve also added good fixture clumps at the end for you to be aware of before transfers in and out.

An introduction

My intention at the moment is to take the fixture difficulty ranking from the Official FPL site with some slight adjustments. That schedule doesn’t differentiate between attack and defence and is an overall ranking. You will see their fixture difficulty when you look at a player in detail on the FPL site.

The schedule below uses the official rankings to rank them from easiest at the top to hardest at the bottom. The order of the teams is for GW22-27. The figure in the right hand column is the ranking from from GW22-24

Player suggestions

Here I give attacking and defensive player suggestions for players with good 6 week and 3 week fixtures. This week we’re looking at Cardiff, Everton, Southampton Fulham and Liverpool.

Cardiff

To me there is no attacking or defensive player worth having here.  The chopping and changing of selection and positions makes it difficult.  With Paterson going on to the right midfield in GW21 he has lost that striker attraction.  If you’re looking for a cheap bench player you may want to consider £4.6m Camarasa

Huddersfield (H)
Newcastle (A)
Arsenal (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Southampton (A)
Watford (H)

Everton

2 attacking players for me in Richarlison and Sigurdsson.

£6.9m Mid Richarlison has scored 9 goals and 2 assists in 18 starts plus 1 as sub at a  PP90 of 5.6.  He is no longer consistently playing the CF role and it’s mixed in with his AML role.

£7.3m Mid Sigurdsson has scored 8 goals and 3 assists in 19 starts plus 2 as sub at a  PP90 of 5.2.  He is the main set piece man and has penalty duties.

In defence I would look at £5.2m Digne who is an attacking LB with some set piece responsibility

Bournemouth (H)
Southampton (A)
Huddersfield (A)
Wolves (H)
Watford (A)
Man City (H)

Southampton

Only Danny Ings for me in attack and he’s injured at the moment.  Redmond has shown some recent form with goals against West Ham and Huddersfield but they followed 16 consecutive games with no returns.  Has the new manager really transformed him to that extent?

Defensively you’d go for £3.9m Bednarek who’s started the last 6.

Leicester (A)
Everton (H)
Crystal Palace (H)
Burnley (A
Cardiff (H)
Arsenal (A)

Fulham

Only Mitrovic for me here from an attacking perspective.  I think Sessegnon has potential but he needs to start more

£6.6m Fwd Mitrovic has scored 8 goals and 3 assists in 21 starts plus 0 as sub at a  PP90 of 4.3.

In defence I’d probably go for £4.2m Chambers for value and the fact that he’s playing as a CM.

Burnley (A)
Spurs (H)
Brighton (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Man Utd (H)
West Ham (A)

Liverpool

The front 3 for me here in Salah, Mane and Firmino are the options

£13.3m Mid Salah has scored 13 goals and 8 assists in 20 starts plus 1 as sub at a  PP90 of 7.7.  He’s played CF in 9 of the last 10 games and is the penalty taker when Milner is off the pitch

£9.5m Mid Mane has scored 8 goals and 2 assists in 18 starts plus 1 as sub at a  PP90 of 6.0.

£9.2m Fwd Firmino has scored 8 goals and 5 assists in 19 starts plus 2 as sub at a  PP90 of 5.7.

In defence my preference is £5.2m RB Alexander Arnold

Brighton (A)
Crystal Palace (H)
Leicester (H)
West Ham (A)
Bournemouth (H)
Man Utd (A)

Some good short term future fixture clumps upcoming

Spurs

GW23 Fulham (A)
GW24 Watford (H)
GW25 Newcastle (H)
GW26 Leicester (H)
GW27 Burnley (A)

Think about Kane and Alli. Defensively is trickier to pick Trippier ideally.

Man Utd

GW23 Brighton (H)
GW24 Burnley (H)
GW25 Leicester (A)
GW26 Fulham (A)

Just Leicester in an otherwise good clump of 4.  Think Pogba or Rashford.  Defence is Shaw

Arsenal

GW24 Cardiff (H)
GW25 Man City (A)
GW26 Huddersfield (A)
GW27 Southampton (H)
GW28 Bournemouth (H)

Obviously Man City spoils the run but Cardiff before may make it worth it. Only Aubameyang in attack until selection gets more predictable. Defence needs monitoring but Kolasinac for the moment.
