We’ve also added good fixture clumps at the end for you to be aware of before transfers in and out.

An introduction

My intention at the moment is to take the fixture difficulty ranking from the Official FPL site with some slight adjustments. That schedule doesn’t differentiate between attack and defence and is an overall ranking. You will see their fixture difficulty when you look at a player in detail on the FPL site.

The schedule below uses the official rankings to rank them from easiest at the top to hardest at the bottom. The order of the teams is for GW23-28. The figure in the right hand column is the ranking from from GW23-25

The Schedule

The schedule assumes that in GW27 Everton v Man City is postponed due to the EFL Cup further forward then GW28.   See my article on double and blank gameweeks for further information

Player suggestions

Here I give attacking and defensive player suggestions for players with good 6 week and 3 week fixtures. This week we’re looking at  Man Utd, Southampton, Spurs and Everton

Man Utd

2 attacking players here for me.  Rashford and Pogba

£7.4m Fwd Rashford has scored 7 goals and 7 assists in 14 starts plus 4 as sub at a PP90 of 6.2.  He seems to have made the CF role his own.

£8.5m Mid Pogba has scored 7 goals and 8 assists in 18 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 of 6.0.  It has yet to be tested in the new regime but possible that he has pens if that responsibility has carried over.

£5.0m Luke Shaw is still the best defensive option for me although £4.8m Lindelof has started all of the last 6.

Brighton (H)
Burnley (H)
Leicester (A)
Fulham (A)
Liverpool (H)
Crystal Palace (A)

Southampton

To me forward Danny Ings is still the only attacking option.  The issue is whether he is fit this week and whether he regains his place after Shane Long came up with a goal and assist as his replacement.  I personally would like to see a bit more from Redmond and Armstrong before I put them in my team

£5.5m Fwd Ings has scored 7 goals and 1 assists in 13  starts plus 2 as sub at a PP90 of  5.8.  He also has pen duties.

In defence I would go for cheapie Bednarek at £3.9m who’s started the last 7

Everton (H)
Crystal Palace (H)
Burnley (A
Cardiff (H)
Arsenal (A)
Fulham (H)

Spurs

With Son at the Asian Cup there’s only Kane (if fit) or Dele Alli.  For me Eriksen is playing too deep to be a consideration

£12.6m Fwd Kane has scored 14 goals and 6 assists in 21 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 of  6.3.  He also has pen duties.  Need to monitor fitness though.

£8.9m Fwd Alli has scored 4 goals and 2 assists in 12 starts plus 4 as sub at a PP90 of  5.2. Seems to have the CAM position nailed and could even be the supplementary forward in Son’s absence.

In defence I would go for the attacking potential of £6.1m Trippier.  He will suffer the odd rotation so if you want more security £6.0m Alderweireld maybe better.

Fulham (A)
Watford (H)
Newcastle (H)
Leicester (H)
Burnley (A)
Chelsea (A)

Everton

2 attacking players for me in Richarlison and Sigurdsson.  I like Lookman as well but only having started the last game and not even come off the bench in the 4 before that there maybe some gametime risk

£6.9m Mid Richarlison has scored 9 goals and 2 assists in 19 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 of 5.4. He is no longer consistently playing the CF role and it’s mixed in with his AML role although he reverted back to CF v Bournemouth

£7.3m Mid Sigurdsson has scored 8 goals and 3 assists in 20 starts plus 2 as sub at a PP90 of 5.1. He is the main set piece man and has penalty duties.

In defence I would look at £5.2m Digne who is an attacking LB with some set piece responsibility.

Southampton (A)
Huddersfield (A)
Wolves (H)
Watford (A)
Man City (H)
Cardiff (A)

Some good short term future fixture clumps upcoming

Arsenal

GW24 Cardiff (H)
GW25 Man City (A)
GW26 Huddersfield (A)
GW27 Southampton (H)
GW28 Bournemouth (H)

Obviously Man City spoils the run but Cardiff before may make it worth it. Only Aubameyang in attack until selection gets more predictable. Defence needs monitoring but Kolasinac for the moment.

Wolves

GW26 Newcastle (H)
GW27 Bournemouth (A)
GW28 Huddersfield (A)
GW29 Cardiff (H)

Forward Jimenez is the only attacking option for me and defence is Doherty for attacking potential and Bennett for value.

If you want to see how these players performed in GW22 see our underlying stats article for that gameweek
