 PLAYER SUGGESTIONS

I normally only give attacking player suggestions for teams that have the best ranked fixtures for the first 3 and the first 6 games. This is the case this week.

West Ham

Two players for me here.  Arnautovic is the obvious one although he is an injury doubt.  5 goals and an assist in his last 6 games after a pretty poor start and he leads the goal threat underlying stats for West Ham and only behind Lanzini in the assist based stats.  He also has had the huge boost of playing as a striker although now with Carroll and Chicharito coming into it more he may lose that advantage.

Lanzini for me is a bit of a stretch.  1 goal and 6 assists (3 coming against Stoke) in 16 games isn’t so bad but he’s only returned a goal or assist in 5 of those 16 games.  He does have set pieces but his inconsistency and pretty ordinary underlying stats make him a secondary choice for me

GW24 Bournemouth (H)
GW25 Crystal Palace (H)
GW26 Brighton (A)
GW27 Watford (H)
GW28 Liverpool (A)

Chelsea

Morata is my first suggestion.  I mention in my early FFGeek team thoughts article that despite the near comical inability to score gilt edged chances by Morata in the game v Arsenal I remain a fan and believer. His underlying stats are good and very consistently applied.  His goals are pretty consistent with his xG and he has no history of under performing his underlying stats.  If anything he’s over performed in the past.  10 goals and 4 assists in 19 starts plus 3 part games at an FPL point every 14.8 mins is a reasonable record.  The only nagging doubt is the minutes played and intensity of games which is far over and above his recent seasons where he was a secondary player.

Next is Hazard.  6 goals and 4 assists in 14 starts plus 4 sub appearances at an FPL point every 12.5 minutes is a pretty impressive record helped by penalties and an ability to get the bonus points in the warm up.  Returning a goal or assist in 50% of your games is also acceptable if a little lower than you’d like for the price.  He has pens as well and has been playing as an effective strike partner to Morata in a number of games.  Probably the only negative is that his underlying stats, although good, are a little inconsistently applied.

Huddersfield

Only £4.6m forward Quaner for me as a bench option. He is an injury doubt and needs monitoring.   I’m not convinced by anyone else as yet.
