An introduction

I’ve taken the fixture difficulty ranking from the Official FPL site with some slight adjustments. That schedule doesn’t differentiate between attack and defence and is an overall ranking. You will see their fixture difficulty when you look at a player in detail on the FPL site.

The schedule below uses the official rankings to rank them from easiest at the top to hardest at the bottom.

I’ve also added a column stating the double gameweeks coming up

Player suggestions

Here I give attacking and defensive player suggestions for the double gameweek teams apart from Brighton as well as single gameweek teams of Liverpool and Bournemouth.

Southampton

Ings has potential but has been an injury risk plus his stats have fallen away. That leaves James Ward Prowse as the set piece man and Redmond as the midfielder lining up as a striker.

£5.1m Mid Ward Prowse has scored 6 goals and 0 assists in 17 starts plus 4 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 4.6. He is the set piece man.

£5.3m Mid Redmond has scored 5 goals and 4 assists in 32 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 3.7. He is often playing as a forward in a strike pair.

£5.4m Fwd Ings has scored 7 goals and 2 assists in 19 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.2. He is the designated penalty taker

£4.4m CDM Hojbjerg should play both games and has shown more box to box potential recently

Defensively I’d probably go with £4.1m Valery.  He is yellow flagged but apparently is training as normal.  If you don’t like that then £4.0m Bednarek is also an option.

GW35 Newcastle (A)
GW35 Watford (A)
GW36 Bournemouth (H)
GW37 West Ham (A)
GW38 Huddersfield (H)

Arsenal

Unpredictable selection is the risk you take with Arsenal and it’s whether you think the quality of Lacazette and Aubameyang is worth the risk.  The Europa League lineup tonight will be worth monitoring

£9.4m Fwd Lacazette has scored 13 goals and 11 assists in 23 starts plus 8 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 6.5.  After starting 11 of the last 12 before GW34 he never left the bench in that round v Watford

£10.9m Fwd Aubameyang has scored 18 goals and 7 assists in 26 starts plus 6 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 6.7.

£6.7m Mid Mkhitaryan has scored 6 goals and 4 assists in 15 starts plus 6 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 6.1.  He is in an area where selection is even more unpredictable than the forwards so he comes with added risk.  For what it is worth he’s played 90 minutes in the last 2.

Defence is equally risky with GK Leno the only player you’d guarantee playing both doubles

GW35 Crystal Palace (H)
GW35 Wolves (A)
GW36 Leicester (A)
GW37 Brighton (H)
38 Burnley (A)

Watford

In attack there’s Andre Gray who should start for Deeney’s 3 suspended games and Deulofeu although Deulofeu is an injury monitor

£5.9m Fwd Gray has scored 5 goals and 2 assists in 10 starts plus 14 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.2.

£5.6m Mid Deulofeu has scored 7 goals and 5 assists in 21 starts plus 4 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.7.

Defence is hard to pick as Gracia has not been afraid to change it up. £4.6m GK Foster is the safest bet.

GW35 Huddersfield (A)
GW35 Southampton (H)
GW36 Wolves (H)
GW37 Chelsea (A)
GW38 West Ham (H)

Man Utd

4 options in attack. Lukaku, Rashford, Pogba and Martial.  Selection has been unpredictable but could settle down now the UCL is out of the way.

£7.4m Fwd Rashford has scored 10 goals and 7 assists in 21 starts plus 7 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.5.

£10.8m Fwd Lukaku has scored 12 goals and 1 assist in 20 starts plus 9 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.1.

£7.2m Mid Martial has scored 10 goals and 4 assists in 17 starts plus 7 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 7.2. Been a sub in 2 of the last 4. Great stats overall but can be streaky.

£8.7m Mid Pogba has scored 13 goals and 10 assists in 29 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 over the season of  6.0. He is the penalty taker.

£5.0m Lindelof would be my defender of choice

GW35 Everton (A)
GW35 Man City (H)
GW36 Chelsea (H)
GW37 Huddersfield (A)
GW38 Cardiff (H)

Spurs

4 attacking options in Eriksen, Alli, Moura and Son.  I’m not sure Llorente starts so I’ve put him to one side.

£6.8m Mid Moura has scored 10 goals and 2 assists in 20 starts plus 7 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 6.3. He has played as a strike partner in a front 2.

£8.8m Mid Alli has scored 5 goals and 3 assists in 17 starts plus 3 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.1 He has played a rather deep position in the last 2 games.

£9.3m Mid Eriksen has scored 6 goals and 12 assists in 25 starts plus 5 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.5. He is the set piece taker.

£8.8m Mid Son has scored 12 goals and 8 assists in 20 starts plus 7 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 8.1. Has been a sub in 3 of the last 4 PL games.  Has a goal and an assist in his last 2 plus his 2 goals in the UCL last night turned around some poor previous stats and selection questions.

Defensively, £5.9m Vertonghen and the £5.4m GK Lloris being safe for both doubles

GW35 Man City (A)
GW35 Brighton (H)
GW36 West Ham (H)
GW37 Bournemouth (A)
GW38 Everton (H)

Liverpool

The front 3 are the attacking options here in Salah, Mane and Firmino

£9.3m Fwd Firmino has scored 12 goals and 8 assists in 30 starts plus 3 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.7.

£13.3m Mid Salah has scored 19 goals and 10 assists in 33 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 6.9.

£10.1m Mid Mane has scored 18 goals and 3 assists in 31 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 6.6.

Defensively you’ve got £5.5m Alexander Arnold, £6.8m Robertson or £6.6m Van Dijk.

GW35 Cardiff (A)
GW36 Huddersfield (H)
GW37 Newcastle (A)
GW38 Wolves (H)

Bournemouth

Attacking options are forwards Wilson and King plus Mids Fraser and Brooks.

£6.6m Fwd Wilson has scored 12 goals and 11 assists in 25 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 6.1.

£6.6m Fwd King has scored 11 goals and 3 assists in 30 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 4.4.He is the penalty taker.

£6.3m Mid Fraser has scored 7 goals and 12 assists in 32 starts plus 2 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.2.  Has a good share of set pieces

£5.1m Mid Brooks has scored 7 goals and 5 assists in 27 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.0.

Defensively I would go for £4.3m Adam Smith

GW35 Fulham (H)
GW36 Southampton (A)
GW37 Spurs (H)
GW38 Crystal Palace (A)

Wolves

Jimenez and Jota are the best attacking options here

£6.1m Mid Jota has scored 7 goals and 7 assists in 24 starts plus 4 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.3.

£6.9m Fwd Jimenez has scored 12 goals and 10 assists in 31 starts plus 2 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.6. Could be the designated penalty taker from Neves.

£4.7m CB Boly has the certainty of selection and attacking potential. £5.3m Doherty though is the better attacking option but has less certainty over playing 2 games in the double.

GW35 Brighton (H)
GW35 Arsenal (H)
GW36 Watford (A)
GW37 Fulham (H)
GW38 Liverpool (A)

Man City

A number of different attacking options.  How the loss in the UCL will affect things remains to be seen.  You would think it will focus selection a bit more. The difficult fixtures for GW35 and the UCL exit could mean that a full team is played for both games depending on the physical and mental reaction to the loss.  Not winning the PL this season would make the season seem a failure in the context of recent expectations.

£11.7m Fwd Aguero has scored 19 goals and 10 assists in 26 starts plus 2 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 7.8. He is the penalty taker.

£11.5m Mid Sterling has scored 17 goals and 13 assists in 26 starts plus 3 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 8.3.

£9.7m Mid De Bruyne has scored 2 goals and 3 assist in 10 starts plus 7 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.6. He is the set piece man. Recent form has improved after a sluggish start. Only played 1700 minutes in all competitions so freshness could see him rotation free.

£8.5m Mid David Silva has scored 6 goals and 6 assists in 24 starts plus 4 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.5.

£7.6m Mid Bernardo Silva has scored 6 goals and 8 assists in 26 starts plus 5 as sub at a PP90 over the season of 5.0.

The best defensive option has been either £6.1m defender Laporte or £5.6m GK Ederson

GW35 Spurs (H)
GW35 Man Utd (A)
GW36 Burnley (A)
GW37 Leicester (H)
GW38 Brighton (A)
