We’ve also added good fixture clumps at the end for you to be aware of before transfers in and out.

An introduction

My intention at the moment is to take the fixture difficulty ranking from the Official FPL site with some slight adjustments. That schedule doesn’t differentiate between attack and defence and is an overall ranking. You will see their fixture difficulty when you look at a player in detail on the FPL site.

The schedule below uses the official rankings to rank them from easiest at the top to hardest at the bottom. The order of the teams is for GW9-14. The figure in the right hand column is the ranking from from GW9-11

So here I give attacking and defensive player suggestions for players with good 6 week and 3 week fixtures.  This week it’s Liverpool and Newcastle

Liverpool

With Liverpool the front 3 are the obvious target although I suspect you will have to live with rotation and early substitutions from time to time.

£12.8m Mid Salah has scored 3 goals in 2 assists in 8 starts at a PP90 of 5.6.  This is a pretty ordinary return rate to say the least and worryingly he has yet to get a bonus point.  What you’re hanging onto at the moment is a set of fantastic underlying stats and some great fixtures.

£9.9m Mid Mane has scored 4 goals and 0 assists in 8 starts at a PP90 of 6.2.  He has blanked in his last 4 although those games have included Spurs, Chelsea and Man City.  Again very good underlying stats and he has at least been able to earn bonus points when returning.  Has averaged nearly 90 minutes though each game which is a positive.

£9.4m Fwd Firmino has scored 2 goals and 2 assists in 8 starts at a PP90 of 4.6.  Blanked in the last 3 games and returns are poor.  Underlying stats are nothing to write home about either but that’s not untypical for him.

Defence is interesting at the moment.  Lovren starting v Man City has created some uncertainty.  Will he keep his place over Gomez and will Alexander Arnold return to RB.  The safe choice with attacking potential now is £6.3m Robertson.

Newcastle

Hard to know who the first choice striker is at the moment and with Kenedy an injury doubt that only leaves Matt Ritchie as an attacking option.  However I’ve covered Kenedy anyway subject to injury news

£5.9m Mid Ritchie has got just the 1 assist in 7 starts at a PP90 of 2.7.  To make matters worse he has averaged 76 minutes per game and only played 90 minutes once.  His underlying stats don’t give much hope either.  He does have some set piece representation but it’s a sign of the paucity of options at Newcastle.

£4.9m Mid Kenedy has got just the 1 goal and no assists in 6 starts plus 1 as sub at a PP90 of 3.2.  He is an injury doubt so needs monitoring.  Again Underlying stats aren’t helpful

£4.5m defender Yedlin is my defensive choice.
