Hazard

Broke his away day hoodo with an excellent goal against Southampton at the weekend.  Been in fantastic form and only Silva has more FPL points in the last 4 games.  Great underlying stats for shooting and creating chances.  5 times he’s got a 10 point plus FPL point haul and everytime he steps out at home he’s a potentially massive captain play.  Even consistency of returns now looks respectable. Fixtures are mixed.  Has pens.

Aston Villa (A)
Everton (H)

Sanchez

With Giroud suspended and Welbeck looking doubtful we could have Sanchez as a striker this weekend.  Was unlucky with a number of chances at the weekend.  2 goals and 4 assists in the last 6 and great underlying stats for the season and the last 4 games show what good form he’s in.  Next 3 fixtures are very tricky though although that may save him from rotation

Sterling

Not the greatest returns this season and a big drop off in form after a great start.  However this is about him playing striker and some very good fixtures coming.  Leicester home next is a great time to buy.  Fantastic underlying stats he just seems to have a touch of the Welbecks in that he can’t seem to put the ball in the net.  However if you’re going to gamble on position and fixtures this is the time.

Leicester (H)
Sunderland (A)
Aston Villa (A)
West Ham (H)
Everton (A)
Spurs (H)

Fabregas

He may have only scored 1 goal in his last 10 games but assists through set pieces and open play just keep the scoreboard ticking over and he is officially the most consistent midfield returner of goals and assists.  Lacks the double figure haul potential of Hazard and Sanchez though.  Best creating chances stats of anyone.  No shooting stats though.  Mixed fixtures.

Newcastle (H)
Swansea (A)
Man City (H)
Aston Villa (A)
Everton (H)

Downing

Who would have thought Downing could reinvent himself as a successful CAM?  2 goals and 2 assists in his last 6 are good form especially given a couple of tricky fixtures within that time.  However both goals have been from outside the area and he has little in the way of shooting stats.  Goals from outside the area aren’t normally  a sustainable form of points unless you’re YYT.  Does have 3 strikers in excellent form though and is creating chances to keep the score board ticking over.  3 good fixtures next and now is a good time to buy unless defensive maestro Pulis ends up as WBA manager!

Silva

No midfielder has scored more points than Silva in the last 4 games.  While not wanting to take away some great performances in a strikerless system which seems to suit him the games were against Leicester, Crystal Palace, WBA and Burnley.  There could be the 3 relegated sides in those 4.  He hasn’t scored more than 7 in a season in the last 4 seasons so it’s hard to think hes going to rival Sanchez and Hazard for goals this season.  However his underlying stats over the last 4 games have been excellent.  Over the season they’ve been pretty disappointing though.  After Sunderland (and maybe Everton) there are 2 tricky fixtures.  Could get pen duties when YYT is at ACON.  Silva’s best returns have come when playing centrally in an advanced  position.  It’s just whether that will continue.  In the short term there aren’t enough strikers for a pair and for him to be shunted wide.

Siggy

After 3 consecutive blanks and a no show due to injury the FPL transfer fingers were out in force but Siggy has shown with goals in 2 consecutive games since then that he’s a hard player to rule out.  With his CAM attacking position and set pieces plus his undertsanding with Bony we have a guy who does have scoring potential at anytime.  He’s also a hard player to read as he doesn’t have any real underlying stats at all to guage whats really going on.   2 good fixtures before decision time again.  Bony going could be a loss unless Siggy picks up pens which could be him or Gomis I suspect.

QPR (A)
West Ham (H)
Chelsea (H)
Southampton (A)
Sunderland (H)
West Brom (A)

Eriksen

Another player with no underlying stats who relies on set pieces and from either the odd chance from getting into the box or some great shots from outside.  A very inconsistent returner but has survived that with his ability to pick up double figure hauls.  An excellent punt when good fixtures ahead.  They’re a bit mixed at the moment.

Chelsea (H)
Crystal Palace (A)
Sunderland (H)
West Brom (A)
Arsenal (H)
Liverpool (A)

Lallana

Finally getting a run of games in the side and showed the benefit with 2 goals (albeit 1 freak goal) against Swansea.  Thats 3 goals and an assist in the 6 games since coming bak into the side.  Has no history of needing underlying stats to accrue points but for information they are okish.  Good fixtures and last season faith are the attractions

Leicester (H)
Sunderland (A)
Aston Villa (A)
West Ham (H)
Everton (A)
Spurs (H)

Cazorla

Has pens in the absence of Arteta and cemented that right after Sanchez tried to take it from him and missed in a rather limp way.  Has been in brilliant form in his CAM position and has great underlying stats. Fixtures aren’t helpful which would make a Cazorla and Sanchez double up a difficult one.
