fantasy premier league captain gameweek 23 – who to pick?

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s the fantasy premier league captain gameweek 23 options.    Arsenal and West Ham have a double gameweek

Walcott DGW Chelsea A and West Ham H

Since he’s moved to striker he’s become a fantasy premier league captain gameweek 23 captain option. Let’s look at his returns against Captain qualifying opposition at home as its the west ham game thats crucial

Sunderland H – 3 points

Southampton H – 6 points

Fulham H – 8 points

Swansea H  – 2 points

Newcastle H – 26 points

3/5 which is ok.  He’s also returned in 7 of his 10 starts which is not a bad record.   He did play wide in the FA Cup game which was a little bit worrying but hope fully that was just to give Giroud a start in the FA Cup and he will be back to playing as a striker against a very vulnerable injury ridden West Ham defence.

A viable option

Cazorla  DGW Chelsea A and West Ham H

Returned in 3 of his last 6 but well and truly out of the shooting stats now.  Like Walcott was also shunted wide against Swansea in the FA cup as Wilshire played behind Giroud.  Here’s his home record against captain qualifying opposition

Sunderland H – 3 points

Southampton H – 5 points

QPR H – 3 points

Fulham H – 2 points

Swansea H  – 2 points

Newcastle H – 5 points

2/6 returns says it all.  Only returned in 9 of his 22 starts.  None of this looks good at all.  has got the ability to produce big returns with two 13 point hauls and an infamous 23 point haul away to Reading.

weather wise Sunday is supposed to be the better day which helps at least with the Chelsea game.

too unreliable for me though.

Suarez Norwich H

Lets get straight to the home captain qualifying games

Reading 5 points

Newcastle 9 points

Wigan 11 points

Southampton 1 points

Aston Villa 1 points

Fulham 8 points

Sunderland 16 points

5/7 positive returns in these games.  Very good.  Overall though 12/20 which shows his inconsistency and unreliablilty.   Top of the underlying shootings stats for the la overall  and the last 6 he just sometimes cant put the ball in to the net.

I’m a big fan but he makes me nervous with the captains armband.

The opposition are close to being one of the worst away.  There’s also the question of Sturridge and Suarez playing in a deeper role which against man u made me very nervous.

I would not give it to Suarez against an Arsenal DGW and a potential change of position.

Summary

Its Walcott all the way I’m afraid

Here’s the no’s

RVP – against a DGW for Arsenal even RVP cant compete when its Spurs A

Podolski – just too inconsistent for me and wouldn’t want him long term

Steven Gerrard – getting good results and stats and has pens but again too much of a gamble against an Arsenal DGW

Tevez – the ultimate home bully could explode against Fulham but will he even play if Aguero is back

Hope that gives everyone some food for thought
