The FFGeek contributor captain picks
Here’s the picks from the 13 so far.
Stats comparison
Vardy Away vs De Bruyne Home
Gametime
With their being midweek games both in theory could be rotated but the risk is always higher attached to a Man City player than a Leicester player due to the European competitions ahead.
Attacking stats
Vardy’s away stats
De Bruyne home stats
Defence comparison
It’s worth noting that Burnley have lost at home 0-3 to Liverpool, 2-4 to Chelsea and 1-4 to Man City.
Palace have lost away 0-4 to Spurs , 0-2 to Chelsea and drew 2-2 with Arsenal.
Summary
Gametime is hard to predict especially with Man City but I would be surprised if either didn’t start
The bookies for anytime goalscorer have for the main options as Aguero £1.40, Jesus £1.60, Abraham £1.70. Sterling £1.75 and Vardy at £1.80. De Bruyne is at £2.37.
The FFGeek poll asking who are you captaining favours De Bruyne at 40% and Vardy at 30%. The other polls are similar
Of the 13 FFGeek contributors the vote is tight with 38% for De Bruyne and 31% for Vardy.
On the stats side.
On the stats side you would say that Vardy has the advantage except in volume although Vardy is a goalscorer and De Bruyne an assister
Vardy has penalty duties. De Bruyne will have a decent share of set piece duties.
The defences have a reverse disparity between xG and goals conceded which maybe about how good Guaita has been and how poor Pope has been, Burnleys record at home against good attacking sides is terrible whereas Palace’s away isn’t nearly as bad.
The FFGeek view
Another difficult one. If I look at the stats I would probably edge towards Vardy but instinctively De Bruyne at home seems the better bet. If I had Aguero he would probably be my pick and just hope he starts. I will decide in my team article later tonight.
Good luck whoever you choose.
