fantasy premier league catch up – Tuesday 6 November 2012

News

Here’s the fantasy premier league news catch up with news on Ashley Cole, Mata, Santos, Walcott, Champs league and price rises/falls

Ashley Cole

Here’s the quote from the Clubs twitter feed today re Cole and the Champs league game.

RDM: “Ashley Cole won’t be available tomorrow, he has a problem with his hamstring, shouldn’t be out for long

No word on the weekend home game against Wigan but I certainly wouldn’t have faith in him returning from a hamstring injury.  Wait for more news but certainly don’t buy him.

Mata

The Evening standard confirm he should be available for the champs league game.  Good news for Sun Dream Teamers and assuming he makes it through should be good for the Liverpool game at the weekend.

Richard Dunne

Back in training but Lambert doesn’t sound like he will be rushing him back so Clark owners needn’t panic sell.  Here’s what he said in the Mail

He said: ‘Richard is back in training and it’s his first time since the European Championships really.
‘Will he be back soon? I’m not sure really because he’s got to get up to speed with training and get some games under his belt.
‘He’s still a wee bit away.’

Santos

No shock he was dropped for tonights Champs league game after the weekend struggle against Valencia and the shirt swapping fiasco with RVP.  Expect Veramaelen at left back until Gibbs is back which is supposedly this week.  So don’t go rushing out to buy Koscielny who should be the CB replacement for Vermaelen.  There is an outside chance Jenkinson could return and Sagna play LB but I really wouldn’t be holding on to Jenkinson on that hope giving Koscielny played tonight.

Ramsey/Walcott

Those who bought Walcott after his Reading heroics to then be shocked that Ramsey was in his place against Utd shouldn’t panic sell after Ramsey was injured for the Champs league tonight.  No return date but should mean a  good chance that Walcott will turn up for the Fulham home game especially after scoring tonight.  The illness statements from Wenger are a little worrying though.  Here he is quoted in Sporting life

I will make a decision on when I know how fit he feels, this is a digestive problem,” said Wenger.

“He has been sick and did not train, so we will see how he is.

“It is nothing linked to his contract at all, it’s because I have played other players, simple as that. We started the season well, he was injured too.

“He played 40 minutes on Saturday, you can’t say he’s not played.”

Champs league

City are all but mathematically out of the Champs league after 2 goals from corners led to a 2-2 draw despite putting out a full strength team.  Good news for owners of Aguero and Zabaleta who seem to be severe rotation victims for the competitions  benefit.  By the way my belief in the City defence has been vindicated with 3 out of the last 4 games seeing clean sheets despite other sites and commentators doom laden predictions.  Don’t believe it and ignore games like this, they are the best defence in the league.  Expect no rotation at home to Spurs on the weekend.

Arsenal also played a full team with Giroud putting his scoring woes behind him.  Personally I think he will come right.  Despite playing quite deep his basic shooting stats are ok and he’s in and around the to 10 shooting stats.  Cazorla still looks like the best option though for Arsenal coverage.

Price rises/falls

Things are a little slow with only 10 £0.1m rises.  Bale is an interesting one?

Still the multitude of price falls though.  Only £0.1ms though nothing more.  Ba, interestingly, is one.
