fantasy premier league – 5 things to check on in GW11

Fantasy Premier League

Here’s a virtual post it note to myself to check on a few things in fantasy premier league this week gameweek 11

fantasy premier league – 5 things to check on in GW11

Harry Kane as a captain option at home

Another side in a Roy Hodgson defensive side will play a deep block defence against Spurs at Wembley and millions of FPL managers will trust Harry Kane with the captaincy.

Can Spurs unlock such a defence at their new home.  Something they’ve failed to do so far this season.  The bookies certainly think so as to bet is to get pretty lean odds.  If he fails again there will be a reaction to a £12.7m player that can’t be captained at home against low ranking opponents

The Man City Lineup

I could have just done the article on this.  After the Wolves EFL cup game Pep was predictable resting the players we expected him too after they played 90 or 120  minutes. Will this game find a continuation of that “pattern” or will Pep continue to surprise us.  GW11 is against Arsenal so he could just pick his strongest team and be done with it

D Silva on the bench against Napoli to me means he’s even more certain of playing then usual.  Sane and Sterling both started and played 90 minutes.  Will they both start or is Bernardo who was a sub now a fully fledged first teamer who can play in any match.  Will that show if Pep has a favourite out of Sterling and Sane?

The real point of interest will be the striker position.  Having played 90 minutes midweek will Aguero be rested?  It seems inconceivable that he will be in a game against a top 4 challenging team.  Should he start and Jesus benched it could be a turning point in the striking position.  Not only will it make a lone striker system more likely but it will show Aguero is above Jesus

Or it could all mean nothing as no one can predict Pep?

Mahrez as a number 10

With a goal and 3 assists in his last 3 games Mahrez could finally be turning the corner on his season.  Playing as a number 10 in Puel’s first game and re-establishing that relationship with Jamie Vardy could bring him back into our thinking.  However Puel couldn’t help himself tinkering at Southampton even when he had no rotation requirement to do so.  Will that be the downfall of any interest in Mahrez?  Watching developments until GW15 when they’re home to Burnley could be a worthwhile task.

Ben Davies

Despite my annoyance about Poch over injuries he is pretty consistent with his team selection.  The FBs rotate, the CBs don’t and the front 3 don’t either

With Ben Davies playing in GW10 and the midweek UCL game surely and having some niggles in the UCL match surely the time is right for Rose to start against Palace.  The meaningless EFL Cup is one thing, lets see him start in a game that matters, in a game where Spurs have struggled and then we’ll really know he’s back and the rotation is on.  Then we can move on and decide if Davies price and attacking prospects are worth the rotation or should we go to more secure defensive options

Callum Wilson

You can never have enough cheap striking options.  Bournemouth have a great run of games over the next few weeks and if Wilson can start and play 70 minutes or so then perhaps he could be a forward option over those fixtures
